Sunday Style: Shabby Apple Chic

Image
Sometimes you wear something and you feel good. Sometimes you wear something and you feel great. And sometimes you wear something and you feel beautiful. This Shabby Apple dress does that for me! I'm loving this cut and color of this dress- simple yet so elegant at the same time! I let the dress speak for itself and paired it with pearls, a simple clutch and patterned pumps. I love this look so much!  Here are some pictures of today's look: I just love this dress! Shabby Apple is a great place to find romantic dresses and skirts as well as unique looks. It feels like all of their pieces have a story and great charm. They even have great dresses for bridesmaids looks! Take a look and see all of the awesome things they offer! I can't wait to see what you all think if you have never checked out this site before!  Here's the details from today: Dress- Shabby Apple (recent) Heels- Nine West (online earlier this year) Cl

Yo Mama: A Tribute to Mothers Everywhere

Yo mama is so dumb...yo mama is so ugly...you mama is so...yo mama... Everyone wants to tell jokes about their mamas but without our mamas we wouldn't be here! I watched the Mother's Day episode of the Ellen show from Friday  and was laughing at the funny jokes they were telling and was excited for all of the first time mothers who got all kinds of fabulous things for their babies to come.  I know though that this time of year is always a sensitive time for so many people. I lost my mom eleven years ago and I still think about her all of the time. Some holidays like Mother's Day can be more difficult than others. Some people are quiet and withdrawn while others are mad or cry on days like today.  We all handle grief and change in different ways and it's important that we realize and understand that and just be there for each other.  This time of year I am also reminded that I am a mom. Well, I am always reminded I am a mother but this time of year, everyone els

Sunday Style: Hi-Lo Color!

Image
This weekend has been beautiful! I thought it felt a lot like summer today as I was out running around and doing things. I went to a concert in downtown Detroit that my friend was in and ended up walking a lot back and forth to the area where I parked. It's good exercise but it reminds me that even warmer days are coming!  Today's outfit is a little play on words but it's Hi-Lo for this fun midi skirt and its color for all of the beautiful colors in this blouse and in this outfit! I love when an outfit comes together and it looks and feels fun and cheerful. That's how I felt about this look today. It's simple but put together and was perfect for wearing all day- to church, errands, lunch and that concert! I traded out the wedges for a pair of flats while driving and running around but the outfit didn't lose anything by having a gold flat with it!  I think if it were chilly, you could also add a denim jacket for warmth and the outfit would still look great!
