Sunday Style: Pure Jeanius

Image
I decided to do a more casual post for today's Sunday Style featuring a fun look with denim. These Royalty For Me  jeans are everything! The cut and feel and fit of these jeans make me so happy! I chose the  WannaBettaButt  style and I am so happy with them! They are so soft and the skinny jean style is just perfect. I chose a dark wash because I love that they are polished and slimming and can be dressed up or down.  I decided to pair these jeans with a black ruffle sleeveless top I have had in my closet forever and some bright pink heels. What do you all think of this look for a fun night out?  Ruffle blouse- JC Penney (old) Jeans- Royalty For Me (online recent) Heels- Old Navy (old) Sequin Bag- Kate Spade (old) Earrings- Groopdealz (old) Hope you all are enjoying this wonderful long weekend!  Thanks for reading and following along with me!  Sandae

Sunday Style: One Striped Dress, Three Ways

Image
It's been a while since I did a post on wearing something multiple ways. It fits well with the theme of the no shopping or limited shopping that I have been doing lately.  I ventured out on July 4th to go shopping and went into Nordstrom Rack. I don't usually find a lot of things there but when I do, they are always so good! Think Kate Spade clutch, Kate Spade pink bag, this dress, etc. So anyways, I have been working on not buying everything I set my sights on but I saw this dress and knew that it would be a staple in my closet. I also knew that it would make a wonderful example of how to buy something and wear it more than one way to make the most of your money.  This dress was on clearance for $29 with an additional 25% off so it was a no-brainer when I tried it on. It's a flattering cut and fit so I went ahead and bought it. I am also thrilled with the service I received in the store as there was a makeup stain on the dress and they got it out right there while ...

Marvelous May Style: Days 28-31

Image
I cannot believe that we are already into June! May came and went very quickly for me. I had some projects due at work and some other personal things going on and looking back, the month was a blur. I have already decided that June will be a better month and I'm off to a great start!  Today's post will be recapping the last few days of the Marvelous May Style challenge. I had such a great time doing this challenge and met a lot of new friends as well! I think everyone did such a great job and was so creative with their outfits! I feel this challenge accomplished my three goals: 1) provide a creative outlet for people to get dressed each day, 2) meet some new fashionista friends and 3) dress from my own closet instead of buying more. I'm excited that so many people have already been doing the Joyful June Style challenge!  Day 28- My Favorite Color- my favorite color is really jade green; however, I love all brighter colors. I wore this green dress and accessorized wi...

Day to Night

Image
Today’s Style Me April challenge is Day to Night.   I bought this Loft dress at the end of last year on major sale and thought it would be perfect for today’s challenge. I did go into the office today and I actually wore this outfit just like this.   I love the versatility of a dress like this because it really can be dressed up or down.   This dress could also be dressed down even more in the summer time and worn with a cute pair of sandals. It is raining today so I thought I would cover up a bit more using this leopard cardigan and wear some comfy flats and carry a tote. I still wore the black chunky necklace because I was thinking if this was real life and I was meeting my husband or friends after work, I would only have to change up the shoes and the bag and my jewelry would already be on.   I also wore the gold bow belt just because I felt like wearing a belt today. Here are the daytime look pictures: For the night look, I simply took off...

Sunday Style: Red, Spots and a Bow

I cannot wait for the weather to warm up so that I don't have to wear boots anymore! I feel like this year I have worn boots more in the winter than in quite a few years. I was watching the news yesterday and they said that so far our average temperature in 2014 has been 16 degrees. 16! That's without the wind chill too. Sorry for my ranting but as you can tell, I'm ready for spring! I'm also having a hard time getting inspired lately with my outfits. Even with the couple of challenges that I have been trying, I have just felt so uninspired. I really need some sun and some color in my life to get me back on track!  My husband bought this sweater and top for me on New Years Eve when we did some last minute shopping before the start of my 2014 Closet Remix Challenge. By the way, most of the items I bought, I returned because I didn't really need them or want them. I bought them more on an impulse.  Anyways, this look is from Banana Republic and the boots are old from ...

Wedding Wear: Spotlight on Eva Mendes for New York and Company

Image
I don't know about you all, but I don't normally have a lot of weddings to attend. I love getting dressed up and celebrating with the happy new couple. My husband and I put on our finest attire and get a sitter and attend a lovely service with a reception to follow. You all know the drill.  I can't tell you the last wedding that I attended before the two that I just did in October. Maybe it's because I love a good party but I wish more people were getting married so I could attend.  I digress... Anyways, we were invited to two weddings two weekends in a row! Spectacular! But what to wear? I was looking for dresses and I wanted to wear two different ones since a) I would be seeing some of the same people b) one was daytime and one was nighttime and c) who doesn't want a new dress?  I saw the collection at New York and Company by Eva Mendes and immediately fell in love with her dresses! They were classic and feminine at reasonable prices. I purchased two different one...
