Curvy Girl on the Run

Well, I don’t know how I made it to forty. Not because I do anything to harm myself like skydiving or walk on train tracks, you know, but because I didn’t think when I was younger that I would EVER be forty! Forty was so old! My parents were forty! My teacher was forty! My boss was forty and he had gray hair! Fast forward and the day is here. I have seen a lot in my lifetime. I have lived in many states, worked and gone to school with many people, made friends, lost loved ones, married and had a baby- the list goes on. If I sound like I am waxing nostalgic, it’s because I am. I guess I thought my life might be different by this time. Then again, I couldn’t imagine my life any differently. I have been through some “firsts” and “lasts” and some “I hope I never have to do that agains”. I have been uncomfortable in my own skin and I have learned to be comfortable in who I really am. I will admit that I forgot I bought this dress earlier in the summer. I even counted it on my list and showed it to you all as a purchase from New York and Company but I just remembered today that I had never worn it. Shocker! I know-when you have a lot of clothes in your closet (I am not bragging) sometimes you forget what you have and/or don’t always take the time to wear something multiple times. I need to get better at wearing everything that I have! Anyways, I have written a couple of other blog posts about New York and Company and Eva Mendes and how much I love her line of clothing. I like to say that Eva gets me because it is like she designs these fit and flare dresses just for me and my body type. I like the way that she chooses fun patterns and prints and sticks with the same silhouettes of her clothing. This dress is no exception to this rule-she just gets me! Today I am meeting clients again for the second day in a row. It's rare that I get out and get to actually interact with people in person since I work remotely. I love this Gap dress but decided to make it a little more professional by putting a jacket over it and nude pumps. I don't have the blues but Tuesday is such a funny day. Monday is so dreaded, Wednesday is hump day- we're halfway done!, Thursday is Friday Eve and Friday is the start to the weekend. Tuesday is just Tuesday. Sometimes it's a repeat of Monday or it's just a bad day for some people if they didn't get their work done on Monday.  I try not to spend my life wishing away the days towards the weekend. They are all special and I'm thankful I get to wake up and enjoy another day, even if it is a Tuesday... It's hard to believe July is almost over! This month's style challenge has been a lot of fun and I have already been looking ahead to fall. If you caught my Instagram post earlier in the week, you saw the super cute cross body bag that I picked up at Target this week.  I'm not quite ready for boots and jeans and pumpkin spice lattes yet though so let's recap these great summer looks that happened over the course of this week.  Day 17- Make A Statement- I love the punk floral print so much from J Crew that I wish I would have bought make! It goes with a lot of different colors so this day I wore it with a pink cardigan over it and leopard heels for extra fun. I cannot believe the first week of May is already over! I am having such a fun time with everyone who is participating in this month’s challenge. I look at the pictures every day and try to find one that I want to post along with mine.   Confession: I would post them all but it’s just not possible!
