WhatUp Wednesday #16

Image
Well, fall will finally be here in North Texas for a couple of days this weekend! Expected highs on Friday and Saturday are in the 50’s. I fully expect to see people coming into work on Friday bundled in their down coats and knee high boots and gloves. Tis the season! I am just excited that I can wear some longer sleeve things and some darker colors. I loved the fall in Michigan because it was cool and crisp and the time for apple picking, football and chili. The leaves would change and you could see your breath in the morning. You better believe I will be sitting here watching Michigan football and eating chili this weekend! I think I also might try my hand at making some apple butter as well! Well, darker colors and long sleeves were definitely represented in this dress that I wore today! I love the new Girl With Curves collection that is available exclusively through Dia&Co . Click the link to the right to get more information and sign up for your box today! I too

Sunday Style: Do Something that Scares You

Image
Today’s Sunday Style post is a little different. I am going to share a story about something that I did that scared me but I am also going to talk about one of my new favorite retailers, Universal Standard .   Stay with me, folks! So a few weeks ago, I did a collaboration with Universal Standard and I wore two pieces from their collection, the Rhine Color Block Cuff Top and the Meuse Resin Jeans . You may remember me wearing them the   day before my birthday and matching my decorated cubicle. Anyways, I chose these two pieces because I was not familiar with this brand but I did like the denim and I thought the top would be a nice addition to my closet. I love the look and the fit of the both of the items that I wore! Fast forward to this past week: Universal Standard is traveling across the country and they came to Dallas! I took a day off of work to go downtown and visit them at an art gallery where they were set up for the day. I was able to try on clothes-new and old s

So another week has passed…This past week seems like it has flown by! I was busy reorganizing stuff in my apartment this past weekend and work kept me busy as well! I did a Dia&Co unboxing on the weekend and took time to do pics. I actually wore this outfit last week and didn’t get a chance to post it so I thought I would share it tonight. This Target top is still one of my favorite patterns from a collaboration and these Universal Standard denim pants fit like a glove! And the mules? These are awesome made in Italy mules from Ferresi that are not only fashionable but are also comfortable! Last Friday, our team went out to lunch to celebrate one of our birthdays. We went to her favorite Thai restaurant Samui Thai  and it was pretty good! I ordered the Pepper Steak and I enjoyed every bite of it! I really am trying to branch out and try new places! On Saturday I tried a new spa for a wrap and a facial. It was amazing! I enjoyed every minute at Glambo Lily Day Sp

Sunday Style: Chic Soul Boutique

Image
Sometimes a Sunday Style is an outfit and sometimes it is a whole boutique! I wanted to share with you all a wonderful online boutique that I became acquainted with a few weeks ago. Chic Soul is a new online boutique that caters to women size 10-24. They are passionate about providing trendy clothing to women who might have been ignored by the fashion industry in the past. Their mission is to instill confidence in these women by providing them with clothes that make them feel just as fabulous as they are! Chic Soul fits in well with my mission as well which is showing that women can dress stylish no matter their size! I have two looks that I chose to show- I wanted to show that Chic Soul offers a variety of clothing so one is a dress and the other is a more casual look. For the first look, I chose the Sassy and Classy Dress in red. I love the color of this dress and the design of it is fun with the ruffle sleeves. This dress does run a little small so I am wearing the largest

Well this week has been relatively uneventful and I am okay with that. Today is a pretty busy day for me- work all day, then my son’s football game and then a Lularoe Party!! If you are reading this early, tune into Facebook tonight at 9/8 CST to see me and my friend Tracy have a party! You will be able to see both of us live and also shop albums if you wish! Here is the link to Tracy’s Facebook page so you can join in on the fun! I’ve known Tracy for a few years and   am so glad she is selling Lularoe! She is so good at putting together fun and gorgeous outfits and she will answer all your questions and address any concerns you might have about wearing a particular style! Here is my outfit for today:   We had a holiday from work on Monday so that was super nice- a three day weekend! I listed tons of stuff in my Poshmark closet- here is a link for you to shop if you want to get in on the action. I sold a lot of stuff that either I haven’t worn lately or doesn’t fit me right

Try-Day Friday

Image
TGIF! I thought I would do something out of the ordinary for me and post on Friday! The other thing is that this is a really fun post as I am trying something new!  I was inspired by Dia&Co -this awesome clothing company that I love-can you say stylists do all the work?! Yes, please! Every Friday people from their office do a Try-Day Friday and try new styles or wear things they may have never worn before or maybe it's even something outside of their comfort zone. So I thought I would play along today too! How many times do you look in your closet and think (or say if you're like me!) "I have nothing to wear!" I have tons of clothes so that cannot really be the case. It might be that you are lacking creativity to try something new like mixing and matching what you already have. As I created this outfit, I thought about wearing something I haven't worn before. I love this lace skirt that I have in my closet but I have only worn it once before and that was

Sunday Style: Fall Florals

Image
I love nothing more than the crisp fall air in the morning when the dew is on the grass and there is a fog in the air. In the afternoon, it gets warm and there is no sweater necessary. Oh wait, I live in TX now! If I can't have the fall air, I can still have all of the fall colors. This Margaret dress from karinadresses does it all for me! I am in love with the colors-the deep rich burgundy background and the florals on this are making it one of my favorite dresses. I love the shape of this style too-the V-neck and the tie in the front- everything is so good about this dress! Now where is the fall weather?  I chose to wear this dress with some vintage looking shoes that I have had for a while and pair some floral tights with them. I like the look of the floral and the floral. What do you all think? I think when it gets a little cooler I could also pair this with some booties and a leather jacket. So versatile! Here are some pics of this beautiful dress:
