Sunday Style: Sassy in Stripes

Image
This Dainty Jewells dress makes me feel sassy. It also makes me want to go to sailing. This dress has a nautical feel to it and can be dressed up or down depending on the accessories. I wasn’t able to find a marina (you know there’s not as many lakes here in TX as there was in MI) but I bet it would be extra sassy getting on a boat as well. Seriously though, this Bon Voyage midi dress is all that and a bag of chips. The white and navy stripes elongate the body and the waist gets attention by the belt tied tightly around it. So figure-flattering! I have worked with Dainty Jewells before and I love their dresses! They are a modest modern clothing company with plenty of options to look beautiful and graceful. They have quality merchandise with gorgeous patterns and materials. So while I wasn’t on a boat, I did find a bridge by some water to take these pics: Dress- Dainty Jewells Sandals- Charming Charlies Clutch- Dia&Co ...

Nerdy Chic

Image
I don't know what I was thinking when I came up with today's theme for Outstanding October Stylr- Nerdy Chic. Is there even such a thing? I mean, who decides what is nerdy and what is chic? What if something I like you consider nerdy and I consider chic?  Enough of this nonsense- I decided to look more "nerdy" but what I actually call "smart" wearing glasses today. I wore a blinded out sweater over a polka dot long sleeve oxford. Here comes the fun part! I am actually showing you two different ways to wear this!  I love to get more mileage out of my clothes and be able to mix and match things. I used to think that I could only wear certain items for certain occasions. Now I am able to play around more with my clothes and wear them different ways and create different looks.  The first look is what I wore to work. I took the top pieces and paired them with a navy blue pleated skirt and belted it with a leopard belt. I wore my nude bow pumps ...

Style Me December: Week Two

Image
Well this week has been fun but very challenging since it was so cold! I didn't take many pictures of me outside since it was below freezing most days.  Day 8 (Sunday) was probably my most favorite day as it was Sugarplum Pinks. I used the Eva Mendes for New York and Company dress that I wore earlier in the year as a jumper and layered it adding a Gap long sleeve button down shirt and an Old Navy heart sweater over top. I also wore these pink shoes from Crocs that I bought in Vegas at the outlet mall a couple of years ago.  Here's a picture of the dress back in October: Here's a picture of the entire outfit and some of the details: Day 9 was Charming Coats. Coincidentally, it was freezing here! I wore a warm and cozy outfit and managed to get a picture outside quickly! I am wearing one of my favorite coats that I bought a couple of years ago from JC Penney and my favorite Zara blanket scarf.  Day 10 was Pudding So Plum. Well, I went with the plum color for a cardigan from...

A LIMITED Engagement

Recently I decided to volunteer with Dress for Sucess. I finally pulled the trigger after thinking about it for a good year. I decided that I am home and not traveling as much and what a great way to give back to the community! I will be posting more on that later.  Anyways, I emailed and got in touch with one of the fine ladies at Dress for Success and went into their location. I toured the location and met with people there and will be going back soon for my orientation. I was invited to attend a styling event at The Limited in the Somerset Collection. I was so excited to attend and be a part of this event!  I arrived and we were greeted with sparkling juice and chocolates as well as we were invited to fill out a form for a drawing for a $100 gift card. We were also given a beautiful scarf and a discount coupon.  Here are some pictures of the scarf: I love how they even gave the ladies ways to style the scarf! Nice touch!  We were t...
