I'm All the Way Up

Image
"Nothing can stop me, I'm all the way up, I'm all the way up..." I like this song by Fat Joe and Remy Ma minus a few of the lyrics...but I digress.  It exudes confidence and the amount of wealth that they have. It paints a picture that they have everything and more(!) that they need in life. They're all the way up! While I love the confidence that this song portrays, the reality is that what is up must come down. But on the flip side, if you're down, it's only going to get better. You can only go up. I love the verse in Psalm 23:4 that says "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."  David is in the valley. He is in the depths of despair. He is crying out but David realizes that things will get better and that he will be taken care of.  Maybe someone needs this reminder as much as I do. I wanted to share my thoughts with you all. It will get ...

Sunday Style: Getting Noticed On Your Own Time

Image
Wearing a watch is not something a lot of people do in this day and age. Everyone has a phone and has their nose in it 24/7 and they can get the time from it as  as everything else . No one has a lot of time- everyone is busy running around and getting things done.  I personally love wearing watches. To me it is an extension of accessorizing an outfit. It's another way to show your personal style. When people ask me "do you have the time?", they will often ask me where I got my watch and will compliment me on the uniqueness of the watch as well. Most people haven't seen wood watches before and ask me a lot of questions about them.  This  Jord  watch is no exception!  In today's post, I'm wearing the  Cora  watch which is a little smaller than I normally wear but I love it! I love the daintiness of the watch and the color is stunning! The mother of pearl really is so beautiful and the dark wood compliments it perfectly.  Becau...

Sunday Style: Black

Image
Last year I started doing a series with colors. I haven"t been posting these for a while. I don't know why, I just haven't. For those of you who are new to this blog or haven't read this series, it is usually talking about a specific color and what it means and/or the significance or importance of this color in my life. Today's post will be no exception although I will focus a little on recent events going on around us as well. I only have two pictures to share of today's outfit, but I'd like the post to be the focal point today. So here goes...Black. When I type in the word "black" in my browser, it gives me options about the color black but also black lives matter, black people unite, black panther, black mass, black widow spider etc. I'll focus on the color for a minute.  Black is the darkest color and is the result of the absence or complete absorption of light. It is literally a color without a hue. In Europe and North America it is t...

Floral Fantasy

Sweet sweet fantasy baby when I close by eyes you come and you take me... go ahead and sing the Mariah Carey song-you know you want to! When I came up with the title to this blog post, that was all I kept thinking about. Seriously though, this dress is simply a fantasy. I love everything about it! The shape of it and the length of it and the way it is so long and flowy! The floral pattern on the dress makes it so feminine yet gives off a sexy and romantic vibe.  I am thrilled to be working with Nissy's Closet Tales ! This is an online boutique for curvy girls like myself and offers us the opportunity to purchase affordable, trendy and uniquely gorgeous pieces. There is so much to choose from and I'll be showing some other looks from here as well in the near future! In the meantime, check out some pics of this gorgeous dress: Dress: Nissy's Closet Tales (online recent) Sandals: Payless Shoe Source (old last year) Hope your week is off to a great start! Thanks...
