Sunday Style: Holiday Day to Night

Image
I thought I'd focus on some fun holiday outfits for the next few weeks. You know, something that you can wear out to the work holiday party or that friend's get-together or maybe even the Christmas Eve service at church.  For today's look, I decided to find something in my closet that I could take from day to night. Let's say you had to work but we're going out afterwards and wouldn't have time to change. I think pink is such a fun color and can really look great at the holidays too! I took this short sleeve dress that I actually wore for Easter this year and put a fun tweed moto jacket over top. I am wearing some polka dot tights that I got last year and some black booties from the Altuzarra for Target line. I think this is a great look to wear to work and requires very little to make it look great for a holiday gathering after work.  For the night look, take off the stuffy tweed jacket and you're ready for some fun! I added sparkly accessories ...

November 2014 Week Three Recap

Image
This past week went by so slowly yet looking back, it seems like it flew by. It's hard to believe this week we will be celebrating Thanksgiving with our families and starting our Christmas shopping! Enjoy this recap from last week!  Monday- I decided to wear a couple of my favorite things together- the llama sweater from J Crew last year and this thrifted Land's End skirt- I am loving the end result!  Tuesday- It was a cobalt jeans kind of day and I mixed prints again with this orange and white gingham shirt and this fair isle sweater (of sorts)  Wednesday- no outfit pics for this day- I tried to capture it on my timer but it was snowing and didn't turn out!  Thursday- Yellow pants! I got these last year from Land's End and love them! I didn't realize what I was missing until I got them! Well that might be a little dramatic but you know, they are fun! I am also still crushing on this gray sweater from Loft last year. It was the perfe...

It's Just A Season

Image
We just saw him last month at my brother in law's wedding. He was his usual self cracking jokes and being ornery.  He wasn't feeling great then but it wasn't about him, it was about the wedding. He left to go home to Arizona a couple of days later and little did we know it would be the last time we spoke to him.  This weekend we remembered my husband's grandfather who passed away. It's hard losing a loved one in general but especially during the holiday season.  As I sat in the funeral mass yesterday, I listened to the message that the priest brought. He said It is just a season that we don't see our loved ones. Much like in the winter, things have to die and then come back in the spring. We will have a season of loss and grieving but we will have those memories close to us that help us grow and to remember him. While a loss is not something that you ever fully recover from, it does get better over time.  Now we are in the season of Thanks and Giving...

November 2014 Week Two Recap

Image
This past week was a roller coaster of weather. It was high in the sixties and then low in the twenties. I think we may have seen the last of fall with the snow that moved in on Sunday night.  I took Monday off of work because the bank was closed on Tuesday for Veterans Day. I wanted to do a closet clean out and switch out all of the summer stuff to fall and winter. I also found a ton of stuff that I will be posting on Poshmark! I didn't post any outfits on these two days because I decided to take a break from social media and outfit posting. Don't worry- I still looked cute for my lunch and IKEA date with the hubs!  Wednesday- I played along with the Pinned It, Spinned It challenge and copied a layered look. It was perfect for the changing temps.  Thursday- Ooh La La this is a fun sweater! I wore my favorite Old Navy items ie everything I get from Old Navy...these houndstooth pants are so fun and I got these boots on clearance from Target!  ...

Sunday Style: Ladylike in eShakti

Image
I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this dress! I was over the moon excited when eShakti  contacted me and asked me to review a product for them! I decided to look for a holiday dress since I will be going to multiple holiday functions. I found this dress and decided to change it up a little and customize it to meet my needs. I chose to keep the neckline the same but I added a cap sleeve instead of sleeveless and I made it knee-length. It was so easy! All I had to do was send in my measurements and then decide if I wanted any customization and they did the rest!  I received a text the day before letting me know I had a package being delivered the next day and then I waited patiently (who am I kidding? I was not patient at all!) for the delivery man to arrive.  I received the package and immediately had to put it on. This dress was made for me! I love everything about it! The pockets (yes, I said pockets!), the fit, the design, the fabric- there is n...

All About Those Boots

Image
I get a lot of questions about where I get my boots. I've had the same pair of riding boots from Bandolino for a few years. These boots have been everywhere- California, Vegas, Texas- just to name a few. When I purchased them from DSW, I remembered thinking they were a little expensive but I have gotten my wear out of these for sure!  I have a few pairs of boots now but I don't wear any of them as much as that pair just because they go with everything and are so comfortable. I have two pairs of Bare Traps brand that I also purchased from DSW. They are the same pair-one in black and one in gray. When you find what you like, buy one in every color!  Here are some basic tips for finding a pair of boots that fit your calves: 1) Start by measuring the largest part of your calf and see how many inches it is. 2) When searching online (I find there is a better selection online usually than in stores), start by typing in "wide calf boots" and look for the measu...

November 2014 Week One Recap

Image
I got used to doing style challenges and recapping weekly so I thought I would continue on with it. I haven't really been participating in a lot of style challenges this month because I want to wear other things and sometimes I just don't always want to do what everyone else is doing. That is the definition of style though- being yourself and being fashionable while not necessarily doing what everyone else does. I also got the opportunity to review a new to me company, LuLaRoe, and wear a couple of those looks. It was a great week!  Monday- 11/3- I did do one style challenge, Pinned It Spinned, and copied this outfit by my friend @emilyagosta. I liked the way this outfit looked but it was a little warmer so I decided to make it a little more "springy" by wearing brighter colors. I also tried out a new pair of shoes by The Lahi and really liked the way they brightened up my outfit!  Tuesday- 11/4- Voting day! I wore this fun initial sweater over a dre...

Sunday Style: Totes Adorbs

Image
I remember the first time I ever heard the phrase "Totes Adorbs". It was on What Not to Wear uttered by Stacy London. In retrospect, she was just abbreviating "totally adorable" but hey, it also works well for today's post! Today I am featuring a tote from Under One Sky  (available online from Target) along with my outfit. This is actually a reversible tote and is great for this season since it is black and gray. It is truly totes adorbs.  I am wearing this great dress from Loft with some tights and booties. This dress is great because it can be dressed up or down depending on your mood or the occasion. Remember I wore this to my brother in law's wedding last month with nude heels and pearls. You can read more about it in the post called "Fall In Love". I'm planning on wearing it again with maybe a cardigan or jean jacket over it and some boots.  I've put a quilted black faux leather coat on over top of it since it's chil...

Style Spotlight: LuLaRoe

Image
I am so excited to share a couple of looks today from Lularoe! This is a company that I wasn't as familiar with but now I am glad I am! I was asked by my pal Amy from LuLaRoe Tooele County  if I would share a couple of looks and, of course, I said yes!  Spoiler Alert!! Keep reading because there's a giveaway that you won't want to miss! She's also offering free shipping on lularoe.com  using the code AMYJUHASZ!  First up is this black and white striped dress. I am in love with the way it looks and feels to say the least! This is the Amelia dress- it is fit and flare style and has pockets. Bonus! This basic dress is anything but basic! It can be dressed up or down and I love the design of it!  I paired the dress here with some pink heels and a leopard clutch. It's colder here now so I'll put a black jacket over top of it too for some extra warmth. I also did a statement necklace for some sparkle but I also am envisioning this with a scarf and some fla...
