Sunday Style: Vintage Style

If I haven't made you a believer in karinadresses yet, then I hope after this post you will be one! Every time I wear one of their dresses, I receive so many compliments and I feel like a million bucks!

As many of you know, I've been going through a personal transformation. My fitness routines and diet have changed and my body is catching up. When I first saw this dress, I wasn't sure how it would look on me. I struggle with all of the same insecurities that you all do!  I thought it might be too straight for me since I have wider hips- the struggle is real for us real women with real bodies and real curves!

But when I got it and put it on, all of those insecurities faded and to my amazement, I was so thrilled with everything about this dress. From the cut to the pattern to the color, I am in love with it. The fabric has stretch to it so it helps to cover and even enhance my curves. I'm proud of the body that I have and Iike to show it.

I'm wearing the Patti dress and it even has pockets! I love the silhouette that is square in the front and in the back. Just like all of their dresses, this one is also machine washable and so easy to pack and travel with!

This dress reminds me of a vintage look from the 40's- one you would see a pinup model wearing or maybe an actress like Grace Kelly. (Thanks to my friend, Rebekah, for helping me to see the similarities). I paired it with some killer black patent heels that are strappy and sophisticated with bows on the backs of them and with pearls. And nothing wrong with a little pattern mixing, I think, so of course my favorite leopard clutch came out too!

I'm not lying when I say I feel like a million bucks in this dress today! I'm a firm believer in that when you look good, you feel good. But you know what else, when you feel good, you look good. These go hand in hand. How you feel on the inside shows on the outside. I'll just pause here and say that some of you readers are my biggest cheerleaders and encouragers and I'm grateful to all of you. Thank you for your support!
