WhatUp Wednesday #80
Hey friends! I can’t believe this is the third post I’ve written this week! I just have a lot of stuff I want to share!
This past Sunday I met up with a friend who I haven’t seen in a long time. We picked up carry out and sat out in lawn chairs and talked the afternoon away. It was so nice to catch up but it was nice just to see another person and have a conversation!
I wore this fun maxi dress from J Crew to meet my friend. I posted this a couple of weeks ago on my Instagram as an item I would buy- it was a steal! But it also is just a fun dress and fits perfectly!
I added some colorful accessories like a clutch, earrings and bracelets and just some casual shoes. I love all of the bright colors! I could also add a tennis shoes and a crossbody and it would be a different look. This dress would also be fun with a denim jacket. So many options!
You can shop the shoes here
You can shop the earrings here
Bracelets and clutch are older
So I thought I’d share with you all what I’ve been watching lately! I’ve got a long list of recommendations for you!
I primarily watch Netflix so this list will be the longest. I’ll try to provide a brief description of each show as well!
Netflix
The Big Flower Fight- think a bake-off show but with flowers instead! The creations are beautiful!
Selling Sunset- mixture of Real Housewives and Million Dollar Listing- lots of cattiness and beautiful homes!
Sweet Magnolias- three southern women are lifelong friends. This is lot about relationships but the clothes are cute too!
The Innocence Files- have you heard of the Innocence Project? These are some of the cases that they have handled. It broke my heart thinking of how long some of these men were in prison unjustly.
Trial By Media- very interesting documentary about how the media plays a role in some very well-known cases!
Ozark- wow Jason Bateman! Great show but has lots of violence, murder and drugs. Oh and money laundering, of course.
Hollywood- I love most of Ryan Murphy’s shows and this one was no exception! Very cool to see people portrayed in old Hollywood!
Becoming- just a quick documentary about Michelle Obama as she is on her big tour talking about her book by the same title.
A Secret Love- a story of two lesbians who have been partners for over 50 years and haven’t told anyone.
Next In Fashion- I highly recommend if you love fashion and challenges! This was fun and I loved seeing the clothes that were designed!
The Pharmacist- the story of a man who wasn’t able to save his son but was able to help with the opioid crisis.
Circus of Books- a documentary about the owners of a gay porn shop. It was definitely interesting!
Waco- a show about the events that took place in Waco, TX with David Koresh and his cult.
There are a lot more on Netflix that I’ve watched, but I’ll stop there for now!
Hulu
Saturday Night Live- I love watching the reruns of SNL! The older ones are especially funny but I’ve also been enjoying the ones done at home.
11.22.63- this is a very interesting show that I watched last year but would definitely recommend! A high school teacher goes back in time to save John F Kennedy.
Brooklyn Nine- Nine- this show is hilarious! I love all of the characters in the police precinct.
The Handmaid’s Tale- now is as good of a time as any to start this series if you haven’t already!
It’s so bad, it’s good. That’s the only way I can describe it.
AKA Jane Roe- a documentary about Norma McCorvey who was the real Jane Roe in the court case Roe vs. Wade. I learned a lot about this woman and I found it very interesting.
Rocketman- I enjoyed the music of Elton John and it was quite interesting to learn a bit more about his background.
Face Off- ever wonder how monsters or villains or any other creature gets created? It’s by these makeup artists! They compete to see who is the best and their creations are simply amazing! Who knew they did all of these things to create characters!?
Amazon
Bosch- start at the beginning if you’ve never seen this show and just work your way through. It’s super good and I like most of the characters in it.
Jack Ryan- this is definitely not Jim from The Office! He goes undercover on missions and there’s drama and suspense, of course.
Making the Cut- I love that Tim and Heidi are back together again and this time it’s a show about who will be the best designer and win $1M.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel- if you haven’t watched this show, prepare to be delighted as a girl decides she wants to be a standup comedienne.
As I mentioned before, I mainly watch Netflix for streaming. I don’t pay extra on Hulu to have no commercials so I prefer this service over the others. I am also considering adding Disney Plus as it seems there is a lot of good programming on it as well!
I’m also open to any suggestions you have for me! I didn’t include my classics that are played at night like The Office, Parks and Rec, Cheers, Frasier, Seinfeld and Friends.
That’s it for this week’s WhatUp Wednesday! Thanks for reading and following along with me!
