Back in Black

Image
I'm literally walking on a treadmill while writing this post. Talk about multitasking!  I'm back, baby! Well, back to the gym and back to feeling better and stronger since I've been doing so. Yoga a couple of times a week at least and continuing to walk every day- at least as often as I can.  See taking care of yourself pays off. It makes you feel better which makes you look better which attracts people to you. Positivity always wins. So I'm back and I'm back in black- well, in this dress at least... Here's some pics of this faux leather dress that I love so much:  Dress: Eloquii (online) Necklace- Purple Peridot (online) Shoes- DSW (last year) Clutch- Talbots (recent) Thanks for reading and following along with me!  Sandae

Sunday Style: Transition

Image
We're in the middle of fall and the weather is forever changing. One of the things I love the most about this season is the brisk temps in the morning and the warmer sun in the afternoon. It is getting darker earlier (which I hate since it cuts into my walking time at night) and lighter later in the mornings.  Transition has to happen in all areas of life- including fashion! I love taking my clothes from season to season by changing them up a bit. I can add or take off a layer depending on the temps. I decided to try a new look with this beautiful midi skirt that I wore earlier in the year a couple of other ways.  Turtlenecks seem to be more popular this year and despite my hatred for them in the past (that admission is for you, Rebekah!), I decided to give them another try. This light gray one is perfect to wear with jeans but I also happened to love it with this skirt! I added some dark pumps and my favorite leopard clutch. I think I successfully transitioned this in...

Monochromatic Monday

Image
Black and white is so simple. So easy. So elegant, yet effortless. I love having a dress that does all the work for me. This one has a great silhouette with a fitted bust, Aline skirt and even pockets! I added black and white patterned shoes for even more of an effect.  I found this wall a while ago and knew it would be perfect for today's post. I also loved that we took pictures later in the day and the sun was starting to cast a shadow on the wall behind me.  When I look at this picture, I'm reminded of this quote from Walt Whitman: "Keep your face always towards the sunshine- the shadows will fall behind you." I think that's a good reminder for all of us to keep looking ahead and to keep moving forward. Hope you all had a great Monday! Here are the rest of the pics from today: Dress: Lularoe (last year) Heels: Target (recent) Necklace- Purple Peridot (online recent) Bracelet- Banana Republic (earlier this y...

Sunday Style: Leopard and Lace

Image
This dress! I love the lace starburst pattern on it and the fit is so perfect. I thought I'd pair some leopard with it for an extra pop. Everyone knows leopard is a neutral, right?  I love unique clothing- especially dresses and skirts- that I can wear over and over. I wore this look for church today but I also think it would be great for a night out! This beauty is from Avenue and I'm loving the new pieces they have out right now for fall!  Here's some pics from today's look:  Dress- Avenue (recent) Clutch- Talbots (recent) Heels- Loft (old) Bracelet- Banana Republic (old) Enjoy your Sunday!  Thanks for reading and following along with me!  Sandae

Window Pane

Image
I'm always reminded of the Eminem song where the lyrics talk about window pane (or in his case, window pain) when I wear this skirt. In case if you forgot, here they are...        "...Now you get to watch her leave out the window, guess that's why they call it window pane..." I bought this skirt earlier this year and wore it once before. I decided to document this outfit in a blog post since it's not that often I have multiple pictures to show off! That being said, I added a jacket and some fun booties this time around and I'm thrilled with the results!  Both the skirt and jacket are made of scuba material so they are comfortable as well as fashionable. The tee shirt is cotton and the booties, well, they're comfortable enough but I always suffer for fashion! I made sure to add some of my trusty Sole Serum  that I love so I could walk around in these bad boys all day and no suffering was necessary!  Here's the look from today:  ...

Casual Monday

Image
It's Monday and last week I wore a lot of dresses so I thought I'd go a little more casual today. I'm wearing all older items but my son obliged me with taking more than one picture so that amounts into a blog post so I can share with all of you!  I love taking basic items and making them pop with a bright color or adding a fun clutch like this leopard one. This look is great for running around, a casual work environment or even going out at night. So many options!  Here's some pictures from this casual look today:  Tee- Banana Republic (last year) Jeans- Target (early this year) Pumps- Old Navy (last year) Clutch- Talbots (recent) Hope you all had a great Monday! Here's to a great week!  Thanks for reading and following along with me!  Sandae

I'm So Tired

Image
I'm so tired. How many times have you said that today? Today's post is more of a combination of a personal and an outfit post and of course I thought it only fitting that I took a picture inside of a tire to say that I am tired...cue rimshot... I have a lot going on right now in my life. While I don't want the world to know all about my personal business, I will say this, I'm tired. Some days I am just downright exhausted- not only physically, but mentally and even emotionally.  Why don't I sleep at night? Why do I fall asleep easily but then wake up in the middle of the night only to lie there and think and then toss and turn? I once read that when we wake up and can't go back to sleep, it's a good time to talk to God. We know He will be up and He will listen to us. I tried that last night and it worked. As I lie awake there in my bed, I brought forth my burdens and my cares and my concerns to Him. "Casting all your care upon him for he careth for ...
