WhatUp Wednesday #85

Hi Friends! Happy Wednesday! We’ve made it halfway through this week! Yesterday I kept thinking it was Wednesday all day and I was glad when I talked to a friend of mine that she was equally as confused as to how it was only Tuesday!

Anyways, this last week was a doozy! I got some news that one of my best friends’ mother had passed away. It’s always hard to hear of these things and no doubt it brings back memories of losing my own mother. It was also quite hot here and I was getting some headaches and just not feeling quite like myself! I forced myself to get up and around on Sunday and take a little visit to Adriatica Village to explore and take some pics. You can read my last blog post here and see all about it!

I wore a dress that I got from Eloquii Unlimited which is a new rental service that Eloquii is doing. I love the idea of renting some pieces that perhaps you couldn’t afford to buy otherwise. I love Eloquii clothing so I tried out the service for myself.

Here’s my honest opinion: I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it. Here’s why: you have to request at least 10 items and put them in your “closet”. You can mark ones as a priority if you’d like but it doesn’t mean you’ll get them. You get four items at a time and as soon as your box ships, you get annoying emails telling you to fill your closet back up. I went to the site to fill and refill my closet and I’ll just say that a lot of the items weren’t ones that I wanted. I’ve seen so many amazing Eloquii pieces but these weren’t it! At least not for me anyways. I’ve since been back on the site and perused for more items and haven’t added anymore yet.

I received two pairs of pants and two dresses. One pair of pants I received in the wrong size and guess what?! They’re not available in the size I need now. I did email customer service and they told me to send them back but sadly they could not exchange. They did however, credit me $25 for my next month’s box.

The dress I liked the most is this striped one that I took pictures of in Adriatica Village. I did also receive another sleeveless floral dress that I’ll post at another time.

I also received another pair of pants that I didn’t like on me. I basically gave the service a try since the first month is free but I don’t think I’ll continue on with it after this month.

Now I do already have a lot of clothes! I will say that the positive thing for these services is if you live in a small apartment and you don’t have room for storage that this can be great! You can also purchase some of the items at a reduced price but I’ll be honest again that I’d rather have the item brand new if I’m going to pay such a high price for a used item.

Now that’s my two cents on the service. You see why I don’t love it or hate it? I’m sure others might pick items and get the ones they love but that just didn’t happen for me! At any rate, you can certainly try it out for yourself for one month free right now and see if it works for you!

Enjoy some pics of me in this gorgeous blue striped dress from Eloquii!

You can shop this dress (brand new!) here

I also checked out Sweet Daze in Richardson this week. I’ve been wanting to get a cake slice and lemonade for so long so I just went and did it!

It did not disappoint! The cake was so good and the lemonade was just right! The extra white chocolate pieces were so delicious. I honestly will have to go back and try other flavors! I got the champagne cake and the guava lemonade this time and I’m telling you, it was simply amazing!

I finished the book I was reading called You Should Have Known by Jean Hanff Korelitz. I think I’ve actually read this book before but I didn’t realize it when I picked it out in the library! There were some things I remembered and some I didn’t so it still held an element of surprise for me! Overall it was a good book and I would recommend it!

I have also been stuck on watching The Great British Baking Show on Netflix this past week! I’m on season 5 and it’s pretty much all I’ve been watching! I enjoy cooking and baking so this is fun for me. I also enjoy seeing what they make and how they make it as most of these recipes I’ve never made myself!

Here’s a few outfit pics if you aren’t following me on Instagram or over on Facebook on my page, Curvy Girl on the Run- I mean, if you’re not, what are you waiting for?
