A Gift For Me?

Image
This time of year many people are busy shopping and looking for that special gift for that special someone. That someone could be a friend, a family member, a loved one or even yourself! That's right! Yourself! Now I can be one of those people who say one for you and one for me...My cart could include an item for them and an item for me. Over the last few years I've begun to cut back- on gifts for them and for me.  This year was a tough one. Lots of changes occurred this year and big things are still happening. I haven't told a lot of people what I've gone through. And you know what? That's okay- I don't have to. I share what I want to share and with whom I want to share it with. But one exciting thing that happened to me was a new job in a new place at a new company.  What does all of this have to do with gifts? I know you're asking yourself this so I'll tell you a story. I've been looking for a job for over a year. I mean, the perfect j...

Ravishing in Ruby

Image
You all know my love for karinadresses  . They never disappoint! The lovely patterns and designs of these dresses make them a simple choice for everyday style. This month I am featuring the Ruby in Atomic Umbrella.  The Ruby  is a wonderful design for curvy girls like me. I love how it is belted to show off my waist and the vneck elongates the neck and lengthens the torso. I also love the midi length of this style. It is the perfect length- not too short and not too long.  The fabrics are so comfy and wrinkle resistant which are perfect for traveling. These are the best dresses for work travels!  Here are some pics of the Ruby:  Dress- karinadresses (online recent) shop through the blog by clicking on the link on the right!  Shoes- JustFab online (early this year) Thanks for reading and following along with me!  Sandae

Style Spotlight: Shopsugarsands

Image
This past week I posted outfits from a new boutique that I discovered called Shopsugarsands . I love finding new places to shop and share with all of you! I thought I'd do a roundup of the different looks from this past week. I have been showing looks from their Curvy section and so few I think they are so on point!  First up is this gorgeous floral open back dress . I love everything about this dress from the colors to the fabric to the pompom detailing- and the open back! So pretty!  Next is the long hooded cardigan .  I didn't realize it until I looked closer that there are beautiful fall colors in this cardigan! There is tan and olives running through it and it will match so many things!  The ruffled blue floral top  is next. I paired it with jeans and boots but you could also dress it up for work with a pair of dress pants or a skirt.  Lastly is this leopard print sheer blouse . The back is awesome too! I belted i...

Sunday Style: In the Navy

Image
Navy is such a beautiful color. It's simple and a neutral and can be dressed up or down. Navy can be worn to formal events instead of black even. It's calming yet commands authority in perhaps a different setting.  Imagine my delight when finding this beauty from   gcgme.com ! The perfect stretchy fabric provides comfort while still staying classy! The waist defines and delights and the hem is the perfect length to show off those stems!  I dressed this Jenai navy blue ruched dress up a bit with leopard heels and some gold and jewels but I also have plans to dress it down with some boots and wear it for fall and winter. Like I said, navy is a neutral and can be worn so many ways!  Check out these pics of me in this wonderful navy dress! Here's the outfit deets: Dress- GCGme.com (online recent) Leopard heels- Target (early this year) Necklace- Purple Peridot (online) Bracelet and earrings- JCPenney (Liz Claiborne brand) Use the code "curvygir...

Julia and Irma and Leggings-Oh My!

Image
I was first introduced to Lularoe a couple of years ago. I immediately fell in love with the Amelia, Cassie and Irma that I got. I loved the colors and prints of the fabrics. I loved having unique pieces in my wardrobe that others don't have. Lularoe makes it easy to wear clothes that make you feel good. Being a blogger is such a fun thing. One thing is that I am introduced to people and brands that I didn't already know. I love working with small businesses, online businesses, startups, consultants, you name it. I love being able to share products and services that I have tried and loved. This time I'm working with my friend, Shanon , who sells Lularoe and is head over heels for it too!  Lately it seems everyone you talk to has heard of Lularoe and their leggings. Because I mostly wear dresses, I like the fact that they sell other items too that you can wear and be equally as comfortable and stylish in. Their clothes come in super fun prints as well as solids and...

Sunday Style: Red

Image
Red is one of the primary colors along with many others that I love including green, blue and yellow. Red, green and blue are combined to make the colors in a computer or a television screen. Reds can vary in shades from light pink to dark like maroon or burgundy. The color red in blood comes from hemoglobin, the iron-containing protein found in the red blood cells of all vertebrates. Red can be found in all different things in nature like the Grand Canyon, the planet Mars and even on humans in the form of hair and lips.  Since red is the color of blood, it has often historically been associated with sacrifice, courage and danger. In modern times in the US and Europe, red is associated with heat, activity, love, passion, sexuality, anger and even joy. In China, India and many other countries in Asia, it is considered to be the color of happiness and good fortune.  I have the good fortune of reviewing a new to me company today called GCGme  . I am wearing this ...

Autumn Watercolors

Image
Okay, okay, fine. I like autumn. I am still resisting it and the cold weather that comes behind it, but I am liking the briskness in the air and the smell of fall. Most of all, I like the colors. There is still a lot of green but I am noticing the leaves changing colors to yellow, orange and red.  Similar to the changing of the leaves is this karinadresses in the Autumn Watercolor design. I am wearing the Penelope  in this design and it is just magnificent! I cannot say enough how much I love these dresses but the Penelope is not only flattering but it's got pockets too! I love the way the waist is defined and the skirt flows out a little. It balances out my smaller top part of my body with the larger bottom part of my body.  The colors are beautiful just like the changing colors all around us. If we stop long enough just for a minute, we can enjoy all of the beauty that is in autumn.  I've styled this dress two ways for you:  Dressy Casual ...
