December 2014 Week Two Recap

This past week was all about plaid! I joined a style challenge that had us wearing plaid all week so each day was a different plaid. I also found different ways to mix and match some things that I already had in my closet so this was a win-win! 

Monday- I actually wrote a post last week about this outfit called Diary of a Mad Plaid Woman- check it out! I talk about my love affair with plaid and mixing and matching prints. I really loved this outfit and the scarf is so soft and colorful!

Tuesday- Um, green pants? Green pants! I'm in love! Even though my husband said that it looked like I stole this outfit from a leprechaun...oh he's so funny! I'm wearing this warm faux fur snood again from Target and some glittery shoes. This was a fun day!

Wednesday- I wore the horse sweatshirt again but dressed it up wearing a plaid skirt with tights and boots. Hanna wanted to get in on the action and stopped for a picture with me while we were outside.

Thursday- I love wearing my clothes multiple ways and this dress is no exception. I layered the dress with a plaid shirt underneath and belted it with a leopard belt. Super easy and functional!

Friday- Oh Glorious Friday! Last week I just couldn't wait for the weekend! It was a tough week and I was starting to get sick...I gave myself a high-five that we made it!

Boots- Old Navy (recent)

Saturday- Last day of the challenge and it was stepping in plaid- naturally I had to wear the fun plaid flats! Side note: the cashier in Kohl's asked me if my sweater had Liza Minelli on it...

Travel Tuesday: Sugar’s Inn Galveston

It’s a special edition of Travel Tuesday on a Thursday!   Ya’ll  need to get on board with going to Galveston! If you’re in the DFW area and you want to get to the beach, you can head south a few hours and get to Galveston easily! This was my second time visiting but I have a feeling I’ll be going back a little more often! I don’t have a ton of recommendations for you yet based on one weekend but the more I go, the more I’ll have!  First things first, where to stay?! There’s a new cute little boutique hotel in town named  Sugar‘s Inn  and I’m obsessed with the cuteness! It’s upstairs of one of Galveston’s finest restaurants  Sugar and Rye . Spoiler alert: I’ll be doing a giveaway with them over on Instagram too! Nothing better than a couple of nights away! Sunday Style: JJ’s House

It’s been said in various ways that clothes don’t make the person, the person makes the clothes. I believe this to be exceptionally true in this beautiful dress that I am wearing in today’s post! This dress literally made me wish that I was heading out to the opera or a benefit dinner. I love that I get to wear and model a lot of clothes and some just feel more special than others. This dress was custom made for me so I got all the feels while I was zipping it up and looking in the mirror. It fits like a glove and I could not be more in love with it!  Let’s talk about  JJ’s House  for a minute. They have all sorts of dresses for special occasions, including bridal wear! I picked out a dress and did my measurements and sent them in with my order. They even called me once to make sure that my measurements were correct so they made sure to make the dress correctly!  This  dress  has gorgeous nude tulle with a black lace overlay.
