Sunday Style: Universal Standard

Happy Sunday! I had some fun this past week and went to visit the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. It’s one of my favorite places to go and relax and take in the sights and smells. It’s right on the lake and you can just sit and read or relax and look around at the flowers or the people- your choice! I think it was a bit overrun by children the day we went but whatever, I still had a great time exploring the pumpkin village and all of the fall flowers and decorations.

I went to the gardens to visit and photograph a couple of new pieces from Universal Standard . I love this brand so much! They have modern, yet classic and functional pieces and so easy to wear! They also have sizes that range from 00-32 so they are a true size inclusive clothing company!

First up, is this gorgeous shirt dress! This is the Rubicon dress in the Rum Raisin color. My friend said it looks like a long shirt and I’m like yes, it’s a shirt dress (insert laughing emoji here).  I love this color for fall and winter too! It’s such a rich color that you can do so much with! I wanted to wear just leopard mules and some earrings so the focus would be on the dress and the shape of it. I think next time I’ll wear tights and a blanket scarf with it!

The next outfit I’m wearing- I can’t even believe I’m wearing it. I’ll tell you why- these are culottes. Omg I know. But they are super comfortable and I’m not that mad about wearing them. These are the Elvo culottes in a gorgeous shade of pumpkin and perfect for matching all the foliage at the gardens this time of year. The top is also from Universal Standard from a previous purchase. It’s the Rhine Color Block Cuff top in black with off white cuffs and is a fun top to wear alone or layer. I just added a scarf and tennis shoes for this trip but I could see adding a jacket for work and some heels too. I will say these culottes do wrinkle a bit more than I like- just an FYI if you decide to get them.

I didn’t take that many more pics this trip to the gardens but I’ll be going back soon and you know all the Christmas decorations will already be out- I don’t know how I feel about that yet.

Hope you’ve all been enjoying your weekend and remembered to set your clocks back!

Thanks for reading and following along with me!
