Sunday Style: Inspired by In Style

I am a little behind on my reading of magazines lately, I will admit. I had the huge March issue of In Style magazine sitting here forever and I just got around to reading it yesterday. I enjoy the fashions and seeing what's trending and getting new ideas for my outfits.

I was reading an article and one of the items they were showing two different ways was a blue and white striped dress. I did buy a blue and white striped dress a few weeks ago that I have been itching to wear but haven't due to the snow and colder temps.

I decided today's the day. I'm tired of waiting for warmer temps- I'm just going to do it! Maybe dressing like Spring will help it to get here sooner?

I found this dress at Gap in my size on clearance and it was the only one there. I had been looking at it forever online and then it was sold out by the time I was ready to buy anything. I thought it might be meant to be for me to buy it. It's fate.

This dress has such a great silhouette and looks great on any figure or body type. I love the stripes and I love that this dress has pockets. Bonus!

I am pairing this dress today with a brightly colored scarf from Loft last year. I love the way stripes look with another print, especially floral or in this case, birds. I am wearing a bright bow flat from J Crew Factory to complete the look.

Here's a look at my outfit inspiration- page 272 of In Style magazine March 2014 edition:

Here's a look at my interpretation:

I love love love the shape of this dress! Ladies, you can wear horizontal stripes! I know a lot of us worry about that but make sure that the clothing item fits you well and you should be good to go!

It was Spring Forward time change this weekend so I know Spring is on the way! I hope you are all having a fantastic weekend!

    1. Thank you, Jamie! It was a big issue bit you know as always, a lot of ads too so it's not really that overwhelming! I'd love to see what you come up with!
