Sunday Style: Spring Trends

Today's post is a two-for post- two outfits and packed with trends for Spring! I was asked by the resale company thredUp to talk about a Wardrobe Cheat Sheet and share some of my picks for Spring.

Have you heard of thredUp? It's a company that takes your unused clothing that is in good condition and lists it on a site and then sells it for you. They send you a bag and you send it in and watch the credits come rolling in from your sales. So easy!

I live in Michigan where there are four seasons and winter particularly is difficult for me. The cold weather and snow are miserable and I live for seeing the spring each year!

I decided to show two looks that I think are perfect for spring! The first is this bright coral dress that I paired with some floral pumps. This whole look was from thredUp! I love the value of what I get for my money. These pumps were practically new and the dress was a little more "gently used" but they noticed this before it was sent to me and the price was adjusted accordingly.

Who doesn't love flowers for spring? I also think this dress could be dressed down with flats or tennis shoes and a jean jacket. I'm looking forward to wearing this all spring!

In the second look, I'm featuring a floral peplum top with a black lace pencil skirt and some black heels. Both the top and the heels are from thredUp and both were practically new! I've had the skirt for a while but the top is a great addition to my closet!

So what's on my list for spring?
Florals, florals, florals!
Bright colors
Simple, easy dresses
Beautiful heels- basic and patterned (I'm done wearing boots!)
Denim jacket
Colorful flats
Anything with fringe!

I'm excited for spring- the change is in the air. The flowers start blooming and the grass starts to peek out from under the snow. It signifies new beginnings and a chance to start over. Happy Spring!

Sunday Style: Vintage Style

If I haven't made you a believer in karinadresses yet, then I hope after this post you will be one! Every time I wear one of their dresses, I receive so many compliments and I feel like a million bucks!

As many of you know, I've been going through a personal transformation. My fitness routines and diet have changed and my body is catching up. When I first saw this dress, I wasn't sure how it would look on me. I struggle with all of the same insecurities that you all do!  I thought it might be too straight for me since I have wider hips- the struggle is real for us real women with real bodies and real curves!

But when I got it and put it on, all of those insecurities faded and to my amazement, I was so thrilled with everything about this dress. From the cut to the pattern to the color, I am in love with it. The fabric has stretch to it so it helps to cover and even enhance my curves. I'm proud of the body that I have and Iike to show it.

I'm wearing the Patti dress and it even has pockets! I love the silhouette that is square in the front and in the back. Just like all of their dresses, this one is also machine washable and so easy to pack and travel with!

This dress reminds me of a vintage look from the 40's- one you would see a pinup model wearing or maybe an actress like Grace Kelly. (Thanks to my friend, Rebekah, for helping me to see the similarities). I paired it with some killer black patent heels that are strappy and sophisticated with bows on the backs of them and with pearls. And nothing wrong with a little pattern mixing, I think, so of course my favorite leopard clutch came out too!

I'm not lying when I say I feel like a million bucks in this dress today! I'm a firm believer in that when you look good, you feel good. But you know what else, when you feel good, you look good. These go hand in hand. How you feel on the inside shows on the outside. I'll just pause here and say that some of you readers are my biggest cheerleaders and encouragers and I'm grateful to all of you. Thank you for your support!

Love Yourself

Justin Bieber sings it best...'Cause if you like the way you look that much...Ohhhh baby you should go and love yourself...Love yourself...And by the way, if you are asking, yes, I do listen to Justin Bieber and have been known on occasion to belt out lyrics...Moving on...

All you need is love. Love is all you need. Thanks to my friends over at Ollie Marie Boutique for hooking me up with my outfit today! I'm loving this gold foil tee and these jeans!

Ollie Marie Boutique has such incredible finds and deals! I'm loving their assortment of clothing and accessories that fit into any budget. An online boutique with unique items and wonderful customer service is sometimes hard to find but they have taken care of me and will do the same for you!

Can we talk about love again for a minute? Love sure is tricky. We think about love in our relationships with our significant others or maybe even the way we love our children or most importantly the way we love God. But what about the way we love ourselves? How do we love ourselves?

I talked a little about this topic a couple of weeks ago in my post called Finding Sandae. I talked about what I'm doing more of to show myself love. More of what I love. More of what gets me going. More of what makes me happy.

This time of year can be hard for people who are not in a relationship and see everything everywhere for Valentine's Day. Why not be your own Valentine? I'm not ashamed at all to admit I don't celebrate Valentine's Day but I buy candy for myself every year- the chocolate caramels are my favorites! I think flowers for myself might be in order too...

If you're reading this, love yourself! Don't wait around for someone else to love you. You're all that and more. You're strong and beautiful and you got this crazy thing called life. You can do it!

Now, if you're in the mood to treat yourself, check out Ollie Marie Boutique. See all of the great stuff they have to offer and place an order. Here's a discount code to apply at checkout and get 20% off: curvygirlontherun

Check out these pics of this outfit that I am in love with!
