Sunday Style: Polka Dots in the City

Image
I could wear this dress all day every day. You know that feeling that you get when you just feel good? You've got a pretty dress on and you might feel a little like a princess? Yeah. That was me wearing this around town. Dainty Jewells has done it again! The perfect dress for parties or church or just wearing it on a Thursday. I love the design of this dress- a beautiful fitted bodice and a full skirt. The tie is detachable and adds extra to your oomph to the design and draws attention to your waistline.  Dainty Jewells is one of my favorite online shops that provides fashionable modest clothing. I love the modern and vintage designs of the clothing and the fabrics are beautiful! I also love that this company was the vision of a 16 year old girl who wanted to dress modestly and fashionable and wanted to share her designs with the world!  This dress design is called the Central Park and it also comes in girl sizes! Perfect for the holiday parties or pictures that yo...

Fall In Love

Image
On Friday we celebrated at the wedding of my brother in law and new sister in law. They chose a venue that was a historic location and had the ceremony outside in a garden and a beautiful indoor reception.  My husband and I love going to weddings- I think I like going a lot too to see what everyone (including the bride) will be wearing. I love the decorations, colors and themes. I often imagine what I would do if our wedding were this year instead of thirteen years ago.  While I didn't have any part in the wedding, I still wanted to dress up and look good. I decided on this beautiful dress from Loft that was purchased during a 50% off sale. I wore nude bow pumps and pearls with this dress and carried a leopard clutch for fun. I love this look! I think I will wear it again with a denim jacket and boots.  Here are some pictures of my wedding ensemble: Dress: Loft Clutch: Forever 21 Bow Pumps: DSW Bangles- Lia Sophia Pearl Neckla...

Sunday Style: Black and White

Image
I was inspired by a couple of things for this outfit today. I can't remember where I saw it but I did see someone online wearing a similar outfit but with a striped skirt a few weeks back and it gave me an idea. I was also challenged for Style Me March to pair something together that you never wear together. I decided to look at this skirt and this tee together and immediately fell in love.  I love black and white together but you know me, I have to have some bright color in there too! I can't just wear black and white! I decided to wear some bright cobalt blue heels and pair the leopard clutch there for an extra pattern. I'm also wearing some J Crew statement earrings that have a little blue, mint and coral in them. I'm wearing my favorite Lia Sophia flower ring and some sparkly bracelets- one was gifted and one was a Groopdealz purchase. I also belted this outfit with a larger belt from New York and Company that has some detail on it as well.  This was such a...

Sunday Style: Pink Punk

Image
If you've read any this blog before or know me personally, you know I love the color pink. It's funny because I can't say that I really liked the color pink a whole lot before I got married many years ago. I think my husband secretly tried to make me less of a tomboy by deliberately buying pink things for me. But I digress... He did purchase this jacket for me for Christmas though after I asked for it. I happened to see it 50% off during my Black Friday shopping and purchased it and he wrapped it up for me for Christmas. In my defense, he had looked for it prior to that and it was not on sale. So naturally when I saw it on sale, I had to get it!  I first saw this cool moto jacket in Gap probably back in October sometime though. I think it's really meant to be an outerwear item, but because it's so cold here, I decided to wear it as a jacket over a dress. I think it's a little "punk" and adds some edge to any outfit.  I wore this fun jacket over...

Transition, Transition, Transition!

Image
I feel like there is always transition happening in my life.  At work, I have been involved in company transitions, change, consulting, etc. for the last few years. At home, we deal with moving parts all of time. In life in general, we deal with changing of holidays and changing of seasons and even the most recent dreaded time change. One thing is constant, and that thing is change.  Well, for me, I have had a lot of questions about why now to start blogging? This was a big transition for a private person like me. I wanted a creative outlet and I wanted a way to help people realize transition and change- not only in their lives but in their wardrobes. I love doing pieces about wearing one thing multiple ways! I love showing people how to transition items from season to season. As a budget conscious individual who loves to shop way too much, I love to be able to teach people some of my tricks and secrets to make your money and your wardrobe go farther.  This outfit I am we...
