Purple Vines: One Dress, Two Ways

Image
These karinadresses are my favorite! I wear them and write about them all the time. But I decided that I should show you a couple of different ways to wear them so you can get more for your investment. They are great lightweight dresses that I especially love to pack when I travel because they don't wrinkle and they pack so well!  So here's the deal- remember on Sunday I said I wasn't ready for fall? Well I still am not ready but I thought I could wear this dress into the new season as well as wearing it now! This is the Trudy  called Purple Vines and I am loving the sweetheart neck and swingy skirt! I love that this dress shows off my waist and makes me feel so good!  For now, it's still in the eighties and it's still hot out during the day. The mornings and evenings are cooler but not cold. I wore this dress with some block heel sandals and carried a beautiful gold envelope clutch.  For the second look, I decided to wear some booties and throw on a ha...

Sunday Style: Black

Image
Last year I started doing a series with colors. I haven"t been posting these for a while. I don't know why, I just haven't. For those of you who are new to this blog or haven't read this series, it is usually talking about a specific color and what it means and/or the significance or importance of this color in my life. Today's post will be no exception although I will focus a little on recent events going on around us as well. I only have two pictures to share of today's outfit, but I'd like the post to be the focal point today. So here goes...Black. When I type in the word "black" in my browser, it gives me options about the color black but also black lives matter, black people unite, black panther, black mass, black widow spider etc. I'll focus on the color for a minute.  Black is the darkest color and is the result of the absence or complete absorption of light. It is literally a color without a hue. In Europe and North America it is t...

Love Yourself

Image
Justin Bieber sings it best... ' Cause if you like the way you look that much... Ohhhh baby you should go and love yourself.. . Love yourself...And by the way, if you are asking, yes, I do listen to Justin Bieber and have been known on occasion to belt out lyrics...Moving on... All you need is love. Love is all you need. Thanks to my friends over at Ollie Marie Boutique  for hooking me up with my outfit today! I'm loving this gold foil tee and these  jeans ! Ollie Marie Boutique has such incredible finds and deals! I'm loving their assortment of clothing and accessories that fit into any budget. An online boutique with unique items and wonderful customer service is sometimes hard to find but they have taken care of me and will do the same for you!  Can we talk about love again for a minute? Love sure is tricky. We think about love in our relationships with our significant others or maybe even the way we love our children or most importantly  the way we lov...

Pleather Perfection

Image
Okay okay- first of all, pleather? Really? Well, I am not about to go out and pay good money for some leather pants. Pleather is perfectly fine with me. Seriously. Secondly, you will never guess where I bought these pleather pants! (Read through to the end and I might tell you there...) I thought this was a great outfit for going out to dinner with the family on Christmas Eve. We had a table for seven and the best food and conversation that I've had in a while. (Friends-don't get mad about it, I love you all too...). I am thinking of some additional ways to wear these pants but for this night, I went basic with a gray turtleneck sweater, black patent heels and a leopard clutch. This was one of the easiest outfits to put together-seriously took no time at all and I felt like a million bucks. Here are a few pictures of this outfit: So, what do you all think? Surprise, surprise but these are actually coated jeggings from WalMart! Eek! If you know me, you know I am typical...

Sunday Style: Casual Blues

Image
Soccer season is in full force which means my weekends and two week nights are filled with fun- oh and plenty of casual clothes. Today was another game so no dressing up for church but I did want to share a fun look that I wore- prior to the game, of course.  You won't have the blues wearing this outfit- especially not these shoes! I paired this pale blue jacket with a faded pair of distressed jeans and added these shoes for more interest. A graphic tee makes the outfit more casual and a sparkler statement necklace and bangles complete the look. Such a fun outfit today!  Here are some pictures of today's look: Jacket- Kohl's (earlier this year) Shirt- J Crew (last year) Jeans- Target (recent) Shoes- Nine West (earlier this year) Necklace- Groopdealz (old) Hope you all have had a great weekend! Thanks for reading and following along with me!  Sandae

Sunday Style: Floral Flounce

Image
Put some pep in your step and some bounce in your flounce....well, I don't know about that last part but this dress definitely puts some pep in your step! This hi-lo flounce dress gives the illusion of my favorite fit and flare style when belted. I thought it looked good with a belt and jacket and some fun shoes. I'm thinking I'll even take this with me this week to wear when I'm in Charlotte since I like this so much!  Here are a few pictures of today's look with the hi-lo floral flounce dress: Dress- Eloquii (recent) Jacket- Kohl's (last year) Belt- New York and Company (old) Shoes- Target (last year) Clutch- Express (last year)  I'm loving this fabric from Eloquii recently and the styles and prints just keep getting better and better! I'm looking forward to more fun things from them for spring!  Hope you're all having a great weekend! Thanks for reading and following along with me!  Sandae

February 2015 Week Two Recap

Image
I'm getting caught up with my weekly outfit recap posts today instead of posting a new Sunday Style post. I'm also off relaxing at the spa getting a massage and facial... It's been a busy couple of weeks for me at work so I tend to fall behind on the blog when that happens. Because I have more work, I tend to have other things to keep me busy after work as well.  I had a good week of outfits and more importantly, this was the week that I had some nasty words said to me and had some wonderful and kind words spoken to me. I really appreciate all of the love and support that you all have given me!  Here's the outfits for the second week of the month: Sunday, Feb 8-  Such a great dress! I made this a little more fun for Valentine's Day with a clutch and some bangles and a pop of red.  Dress- Eloquii (last year) Shoes- JustFab (online recent) Jacket- Kohl's (last year) Clutch- Poshmark Bangles- Jet Chic Arm Candy (recent online) ...

February 2015 Week One Recap

Image
It.is.cold. Way too cold to go outside and do anything so I thought I'd play catch up on outfits. You can see by all of the snow in my pictures that it's been cold here lately. I find I am not as creative during the winter since I have to bundle up to go anywhere. It's also hard to get out and get good pictures since the temperatures are so low. I am still getting dressed everyday, I may just not get a picture to document it!  Monday, Feb 2- Snow Day! No outfit post on this day.  Tuesday, Feb 3-  Black and white and mint for back to work on Tuesday! Loving these pixie pants with the faux fur vest! My bag says "It's okay to stare".... Sunday Style: Valentine's Style

Image
Are you big into Valentine's Day? I'm not really but I do enjoy the cute little accents like kisses and hearts that are widespread during this timeframe. I decided to use a couple of cute accessories with this striped dress that I bought a while back to make a fun Sunday Style post!  This dress from Eloquii was love at first sight. I showed it to my husband and he said "you should get that". So I did! It thought it would go perfectly with these red bow heels and then decided to do a theme post. That's usually the way my outfits end up to be outfits is that I think about one thing and it leads to another and so on and so on.  Anyways, it's a little chilly here still to wear sleeveless which is what this dress is, so I put a black moto jacket over it for some extra warmth. The sun was out yesterday when I took these pictures so I also look like I'm squinting in all of the pics... This dress is great as a dress but I am also thinking I will wear a...
