December 2014 Week Four Recap

Image
December is officially over. Hard to believe we are in 2015! I don't know about you all but the hardest part of a new year is getting the year right when you write it down!  I was feeling much better for the end of the month and tried to get back to posting regular outfits daily. I hate not feeling well enough to get out and about!  So here is a breakdown of the remaining outfits for the month! Sunday Style: Little Black Wrap Dress (Four Ways!)

Image
I am pretty sure that most women own a little black dress. A black dress is so easy to dress up or dress down and I thought I would give you all some ideas today. I'm upping the ante and showing outfits with a wrap dress because they are fun and so figure-flattering! I found this wrap dress on the clearance rack at Old Navy probably a year or two ago. The tag said $6.99 on it so I either paid that or probably even less knowing me!  The first look is a great look for a date night or night out. The dress itself is a blank canvas so I dressed it up with a beautiful statement necklace, polka dot tights and high heels with bows for Kohls. These shoes were a steal compared to their look alikes from a Kate Spade. I'm also carrying a bright orange clutch for a pop of color! I found this clutch at Goodwill!  The second look is also still a bit more dressed up and how I would wear it to work. I have pearls on and a bright green bracelet. The bright green bracelet satis...

2014 Closet Remix Challenge

Image
Okay, I will admit it. I have way too many clothes and shoes. In fact, I am too embarrassed to post any pictures of my closet on here. I don't want to make myself look bad. I bet I am in the same situation though as some of you who are reading this.  I don't think I have a problem. I don't think I have an addiction to shopping. I might be bored or easily persuaded though to buy items I don't really need. I admit I have gotten caught up in the trap of " oh, it's only _dollars" or everyone else on Instagram has it so I think I need it too. Maybe it's the countless number of outfit ideas that I think I will dream up with this one item that is such a bargain. I don't know. Here are some examples of the "must have" items that I purchased in 2013 as a direct result of seeing them on Instagram: Remember the fan fringe necklace? This was one of my first purchases last year.  Or the rosette necklace? The glitter sandals?  The J Crew pink Mari sand...

Style Me December: Week Two

Image
Well this week has been fun but very challenging since it was so cold! I didn't take many pictures of me outside since it was below freezing most days.  Day 8 (Sunday) was probably my most favorite day as it was Sugarplum Pinks. I used the Eva Mendes for New York and Company dress that I wore earlier in the year as a jumper and layered it adding a Gap long sleeve button down shirt and an Old Navy heart sweater over top. I also wore these pink shoes from Crocs that I bought in Vegas at the outlet mall a couple of years ago.  Here's a picture of the dress back in October: Here's a picture of the entire outfit and some of the details: Day 9 was Charming Coats. Coincidentally, it was freezing here! I wore a warm and cozy outfit and managed to get a picture outside quickly! I am wearing one of my favorite coats that I bought a couple of years ago from JC Penney and my favorite Zara blanket scarf.  Day 10 was Pudding So Plum. Well, I went with the plum color for a cardigan from...

Happy #nationalmadeupholiday!

I love Instagram! Ask anyone that knows me and they know that I enjoy looking at all of the pictures. I know that some people prefer Facebook or Twitter or other social media, but I enjoy sitting and looking at pictures.  I'm not fooled that I have real relationships and friendships with people that I follow and they follow me back on Instagram. I have made friends with some but the whole reason that I started using Instagram was as a means of sharing pictures. Now I use it to help people develop their own personal style. When I post my outfit pictures, I am not bragging about what I have-I am using this means to show what I do with my clothes and provide people with ideas of how they can do the same using what they have.  It is so easy to fall into the trap of wanting what everyone else has. Sometimes I do like things that people have bought and maybe I was looking for something and they found it. Or what about introducing me to cartwheel or sales codes or other ways to help ...
