Sunday Style: I’ve Got the Blues

Image
This post is paid for by  Lane Bryant . Hi friends! It’s another Sunday Style post! Today’s post is all about casual looks featuring this amazing pair of flare leg jeans from  Lane Bryant !  Blue is such a calming color and these looks are perfect for a casual outing or date night! I certainly don’t have the blues, I’m just having fun wearing them!  While I usually feature a lot of dresses and skirts, I do love wearing denim that fits and is stylish. I have been wearing more of a skinny leg or straight leg recently so when I saw these  bootcut jeans , I was excited to try them!  I think the key to building any outfit is to pick a foundation piece first and these  jeans  are definitely it! Add a top, boots and some accessories and your  look is complete! It’s really a simple formula!  I think this first look is a good casual one with this  knit relaxed top  and boots. I also added the  blue earrings  for even more blue...

Sunday Style: The Grand Rapids Blues

Image
Happy Sunday, friends! It’s hard to believe that today is already March 1st! I saw a meme that said something about how January had 585 days and February flew by so fast! That’s exactly how it feels for me since I really hate the cold weather! Today was actually in the 50’s though and the sun was shining bright. I’m so ready for spring!  One of the landmarks in Grand Rapids is the Blue Bridge. The Blue Bridge used to be a railroad bridge and is now used as a pedestrian bridge. It was built in 1892 and stretches over the Grand River. It is iconic to the city and also is one of the longest truss bridges in Michigan.   Now there’s nothing like wearing blue when you are by the Blue Bridge! I got this  dress  from  My Sister’s Closet Boutique  and I love it! It’s a small little blue floral pattern but if there’s anything you know about me, you know I also love a great animal print! I decided to add some depth to this look with the leopard belt and hat. I added b...

Tuesday Blues

Image
Today I am meeting clients again for the second day in a row. It's rare that I get out and get to actually interact with people in person since I work remotely. I love this Gap dress but decided to make it a little more professional by putting a jacket over it and nude pumps. I don't have the blues but Tuesday is such a funny day. Monday is so dreaded, Wednesday is hump day- we're halfway done!, Thursday is Friday Eve and Friday is the start to the weekend. Tuesday is just Tuesday. Sometimes it's a repeat of Monday or it's just a bad day for some people if they didn't get their work done on Monday.  I try not to spend my life wishing away the days towards the weekend. They are all special and I'm thankful I get to wake up and enjoy another day, even if it is a Tuesday... Hope your week is off to a great start!  Sandae Dress- Gap Jacket- Calvin Klein via Macy's Shoes- Nine West via Marshalls Necklace- Anna...

Beautiful in Blue

Image
Yesterday's Style Me March challenge was Beautiful in Blue. I decided to take a day off from dressing up so I thought I would participate today with this one. I'm going to a baby shower today and I was thinking about what I should wear (naturally). I didn't want to be too dressed up but I wanted to look nice.  I decided to wear this beautiful cobalt blue basic dress from Gap and pair it with a jean jacket for a more casual look. This dress is super comfortable and has pockets and is waist-defining. It's on sale today online and there looks to be plenty of sizes too! It's going to be a go-to dress this year for sure!  I decided to brighten up the blues with some yellow and pair a nude flat with it as well. Top it off with a great leopard bag and you are done!  Here are some pics from the outfit today: I'm heading out to the shower and a little shopping too. I'm hoping I win the baby shower bingo or something- ...

Sunday Style: I've Got the Blues

I don't really have the blues. I just love wearing the color blue and I love wearing different shades of it even more! Believe it or not, I'm dressed in all Target today with the exception of the Loft bow belt that I put on top. This is a dress that is short- sleeved and I bought it before the 2014 Closet Remix Challenge at 70% off. I love the dress for many reasons: it's knit so it's super comfortable, it's a great length and it reminds me of a similar dress that I made in high school in Home Ec.  The sweater was also 70% off and I am truly able to mix and match with a lot of other clothes that I already own. I love the different shades of blue as well as the color-blocking.  I added some interest with the leopard heels and the bow belt. The heels are also old from Target and the belt is from last year. A lot of other jewelry or accessories really isn't necessary with this outfit because of the collar and the belt. I am wearing earrings and a bracel...
