Sunday Style: Floral Fantasy

Image
It’s not every day that you wear a dress and feel special-it should be, but that’s not always the case. This dress is truly a fantasy come true. The style of this Karinadresses is magical-it gives me such a good waistline and accentuates the curves of my body. The print is also perfect. A floral is my favorite but this one is special. A large floral print that is splashed on a black background gives the perfect detail to an otherwise perfect little black dress. As with all of karinadresses dresses, they can be dressed up or down. I chose to wear lace up sandals with this one today but I could also see it worn with booties and a sweater for fall. Comfort is key in this Tea Garden Carolyn dress and it’s light enough for the hot weather that we have going on here as well as across a lot of the US. Best part? karinadresses are on sale through July 4! Take an extra 25% off using the code MADEINTHEUSA.  Shop through the link on the side of the blog and choose any new dress fo...

Bold Pattern Mixing

Image
I love pattern mixing! If you have been following me for any length of time, you already know this. It is so simple and adds so much interest to your outfit! Start with the same color or color family and then match a pattern (or two!). Probably one of my most favorite and easiest combos is stripes and florals. Add a striped top to a floral skirt and you are done! But enough about that...today's pattern mixing is a bold floral print and windowpane heels. I am loving this floral faux wrap  dress from Avenue ! It is so easy to throw on and mix and match accessories and footwear. I chose this dress with these heels to wear to work today. You need some fabulousness walking into a Monday! Thanks for reading and following along with me! Hope you had a wonderful Monday! Sandae P. S. Check out the pics of this dress!

Sunday Style: Floral Frenzy

Image
If you're a parent of a school age child like me, I'm sure you're in a frenzy. Getting ready for school to start and getting school supplies, clothing and haircuts- yes, I still am doing these and school starts in two weeks! I've been busy with work this summer but it's been a good one. No need to be in a frenzy when I'm still enjoying the summer and all of its glory- including the fashions!  Something super trendy this year is the off the shoulder blouse and dress. I am loving this floral dress so much! It's so bright and airy and the floral pattern is so good! It's a shorter style than I normally wear but I love the design and the high-low hem is very flattering. Think it's too short for you? It is actually a top but I sized up to wear as a dress!  Here's some pictures of this floral beauty: I chose to wear my bright neon pink sandals and carry a black clutch. It's okay to stare! I think it is anyways....but you could we...

Sunday Style: Black and White Floral

Image
It's no secret that I love all things black and white- throw in a floral pattern and I'm in love for sure! I love this dress so much from karinadresses ! It's the perfect size floral pattern for me but it's also the best dress shape for my body type. I love the way it's a faux wrap adding interest but the vee neck elongates my body and the tie that wraps around my waist accentuates it. I talk about karinadresses all the time. It's because they are so easy to wear and easy to love! This dress is the Margaret  style. It fits almost as a maxi on me but it's really a midi dress. I've had other dresses that are similar but I love this one for summer because it's perfect with sandals! I'm wearing black wedges with mine that I got on a super sale last year.  The print is so bold that minimal accessories are needed. I am wearing some bangle bracelets and earrings with mine. A small clutch or straw bag would also be perfect with this.  It'...

Sunday Style: Fantastic Floral

Image
It's another great dress from karina dresses  this week! I don't have a lot of floral dresses that I can wear into the fall and winter. Most of them are short sleeve or sleeveless and are brighter colors. When I saw this pattern, I knew it would be perfect to wear during the colder months when I usually stick with darker colors. I am wearing the  Maggie   (pink and navy florette) which is perfect for my body shape. It shows off my waist and it has a tie as well. The v-neck is great for elongating the body and the skirt is fuller and lands at the knee which is a good length for me. Because this dress has an all-over pattern, I decided to minimize my accessories and chose to not wear a necklace. I am wearing a fun vintage-y looking pump that has open toes that I think go well with this style of dress. Here are a few pictures of me in this beautiful floral dress: Dress- karina dresses (recent online) Bracelet- J Crew Factory (old) Shoes- DSW (old) You can shop...

Passion for Fashion

Image
Today’s style challenge was Passion for Fashion.   When I made the Marvelous May Style challenge, I wanted there to be days where everyone could be themselves and feature different items or in some cases, even people, who inspired them or their favorites. When I came up with this theme, I thought all of my IG friends would have something to wear-something they loved, something that they were passionate about or inspired them. My outfit today is a mis-mash of a little bit of everything.   I love a good floral and I didn’t think to mix a lot of patterns until I started viewing other peoples’ pictures on Instagram.   I thought it was something that I might not be able to pull off but I tried it once or twice and loved it! As I am writing this, I am looking at a bag that I think ignited a little of my passion for fashion.   Being a true 90’s girl, I loved loved loved this jade green Liz Claiborne handbag.   In all the years of moving and growing older, I...

Sunday Style: Flirty Florals

Image
Happy Sunday! I dug deep into the closet for this dress today! I remember buying this wrap dress at a Banana Republic Factory Store at the outlets near Seattle. I was out there working a few years ago and happened upon this dress and loved it!  I think it is the bold floral pattern, the yellow color and the silkiness of the dress that drew me to it. I also love a wrap dress as it accentuates the waist and is fairly forgiving on all body types. I think it's a great dress to wear for today's Style Me April challenge which is Flirty Florals.  I decided to wear my Nine West nude bow heels and pair them with a straw clutch, also from Banana Republic. I also went for a more fun look with my jewelry and am sort of mixing and matching colors and a "wooden" look. I remember seeing on What Not to Wear that Stacy and Clinton said "it doesn't have to match, it just has to go". I often base my clothing and accessories on this motto.  Here are some pics of...
