Sunday Style: Similar Styles

Image
Today's Sunday Style post is a different one. I didn't actually wear this to church today but I will tell you that I wore it around town in Charlotte earlier this week! My fabulous friend Lynsie from Similar Styles  came to visit me in the evening after work and we took advantage of the surroundings and did a photo shoot! The folks over at  Shabby Apple  sent me this beautiful tulle skirt and I couldn't be happier with it! It's such a fun piece of clothing and it was so much fun taking these pictures wearing it!  Be prepared for cuteness overload! This was so much fun!  Love love love this girl! We had so much fun and we're already planning our next adventure!  Hope you all have had a great Sunday!  Thanks for reading and following along with me!  Sandae

It's Raleigh Happening!

Image
I'm kind of behind on my blog posts. I've been busy with life and traveling last weekend. A girl needs to catch up on her sleep! I will post outfit posts later but I wanted to recap our spectacular time in Raleigh- you know, before I forget everything!  If you've been following along with me for a while, you know I love Instagram. It wasn't always that way though. I worked out in California a couple of years ago and noticed that it had some great filters and made my pics look awesome. I was private because I was taking pictures of fun stuff I was doing and some of family and friends. I really didn't want people to follow me because I didn't want to share my private life with the world. Fast forward to now when sometimes I wish life on IG was that easy! When people didn't "block" me out of spite (we all know you're mean anyways so no love lost) and people didn't make rude comments or try to sell you wraps. You might wonder why I stay...

Sunday Style: Orange

Image
I recently lost a friend- she didn't die but I lost her to the city of Minneapolis. Her husband got transferred there for work. Now, I am happy for him but I am still mourning the loss of seeing my friend regularly. She won't be there in book club and we can't go to the movies anymore. No more small group either. No more late night runs to Menchies for fro-yo and girl talk. I decided to dedicate this post to her. To my friend who loves orange. We bought these shirts together and she was always jealous of my shoes. I looked everywhere for a pair for her but was unsuccessful. She does have a pair of orange Toms so I guess she isn't totally without.... Orange is such a fun color. Orange is a stimulus color or a color that makes you stop and look. I always think it brightens my day. Orange is a bright tone in the summer and a muted tone in the fall. Orange symbolizes new beginnings like flowers blooming in the spring and the turning of the leaves in the autumn. It...

March Book Club

Image
If you know me personally or if you've been keeping up with the blog for the last few months, you know I love to read. I have a tab on my blog called Book Club where I share the book that we are reading for the month.  The book club, known affectionately by SBC or Sandae's Book Club, was born after reading the book The Happiness Project. I won't tell everything about this book, but I will tell you that it literally changed my life and the way I think and do things. If you haven't read it, you need to. You do not have to be unhappy to read this book either. One of the things I learned from the book though was if you want something, like joining a book club, and it isn't readily available, do it yourself. And that's what I did. I started a book club a year ago and we are going strong. We've had two people join and one person leave and we've made new friends, read new books, and tried new recipes. I feel I have learned a lot from what we've read and...
