WhatUp Wednesday #14

Image
Well this week has been relatively uneventful and I am okay with that. Today is a pretty busy day for me- work all day, then my son’s football game and then a Lularoe Party!! If you are reading this early, tune into Facebook tonight at 9/8 CST to see me and my friend Tracy have a party! You will be able to see both of us live and also shop albums if you wish! Here is the link to Tracy’s Facebook page so you can join in on the fun! I’ve known Tracy for a few years and   am so glad she is selling Lularoe! She is so good at putting together fun and gorgeous outfits and she will answer all your questions and address any concerns you might have about wearing a particular style! Here is my outfit for today:   We had a holiday from work on Monday so that was super nice- a three day weekend! I listed tons of stuff in my Poshmark closet- here is a link for you to shop if you want to get in on the action. I sold a lot of stuff that either I haven’t worn lately or doesn’t fit...

Sunday Style: Faux Leather

Image
I recently became familiar with a company called Dia&co.  I decided to give ordering a box a try. I'll tell you about my experience first before I share pictures. I talked to a stylist on the phone after I filled out a questionnaire on the website. I made sure to put things on my profile like styles and colors I like as well as amounts I would spend on particular pieces of clothing or accessories. I received my first box and loved items in it but a couple of the items weren't the best fit for me. I sent them back in the postage paid envelope and then went online to rate the items. In my second box I received a few items that I loved including this awesome olive faux leather skirt.  I kept the outfit to a minimum to show off the skirt and then added pattern with both the clutch and my shoes. I'm loving this secretary bow blouse with it too- the color is perfect with the olive for fall! This outfit is great to wear to work and then even out afterwards to dinner or...

Sunday Style: Valentine's Style

Image
Are you big into Valentine's Day? I'm not really but I do enjoy the cute little accents like kisses and hearts that are widespread during this timeframe. I decided to use a couple of cute accessories with this striped dress that I bought a while back to make a fun Sunday Style post!  This dress from Eloquii was love at first sight. I showed it to my husband and he said "you should get that". So I did! It thought it would go perfectly with these red bow heels and then decided to do a theme post. That's usually the way my outfits end up to be outfits is that I think about one thing and it leads to another and so on and so on.  Anyways, it's a little chilly here still to wear sleeveless which is what this dress is, so I put a black moto jacket over it for some extra warmth. The sun was out yesterday when I took these pictures so I also look like I'm squinting in all of the pics... This dress is great as a dress but I am also thinking I will wear a...

Sunday Style: Pardon My French! (Otherwise Known as J Crew on a Budget)

Image
Yes, my darling, today’s outfit is all J Crew. I am not bragging but I did not pay a lot for these items that I am wearing.   Today I am sharing some things that I do to get the most bang for my buck when it comes to shopping at J Crew. I see so many people on Instagram wearing J Crew and love the way they style their items. J Crew is known for their high quality “preppy” style clothing. Their catalogs have models dressed perfectly for all occasions and they make wearing their clothing look like it makes life so much more worthwhile. Don’t get tricked into thinking that if you don’t wear a certain brand that you are not good enough! This is not an image that I like to portray. I am human and have imperfections just like everyone else but I do enjoy wearing fun and fashionable clothing at a discounted price.   I also, like everyone else, get sucked in seeing all of the stores’ new arrivals. With fall coming, it is especially easy to run out and buy all of the new...

2014 Closet Remix Challenge: February Update

Image
I've got spring fever! I need to get into the world and out of the house! February being the shortest month was one of the longest for me. I swear I have that SADD and find it hard to do anything after I finish working. It's so dark and cold out and I just am so tired and have no energy.  What does all of this have to do with the challenge? Actually a lot. I'm an emotional shopper just like I am an emotional eater. Since I haven't been shopping, I've been eating. If you give up one thing, you have to replace it with another. I'm smarter now that I realize this. I feel like this last month it was a lot harder to not shop. I see people on IG who say " I fell off the wagon" or "I did a month and I can't handle it anymore" or "this item was so worth it". I hear you all and I definitely relate to everything that you say.  I felt the urge to shop this month way more than in January. And you know what? I did actually shop. I made a lis...
