Sunday Style: Casual Blues

Soccer season is in full force which means my weekends and two week nights are filled with fun- oh and plenty of casual clothes. Today was another game so no dressing up for church but I did want to share a fun look that I wore- prior to the game, of course.

You won't have the blues wearing this outfit- especially not these shoes! I paired this pale blue jacket with a faded pair of distressed jeans and added these shoes for more interest. A graphic tee makes the outfit more casual and a sparkler statement necklace and bangles complete the look. Such a fun outfit today!

Here are some pictures of today's look:

Jacket- Kohl's (earlier this year)
Shirt- J Crew (last year)
Jeans- Target (recent)
Shoes- Nine West (earlier this year)
Necklace- Groopdealz (old)

Hope you all have had a great weekend! Thanks for reading and following along with me!

Spring 2015 Trend: The White Shirt

Today's post is exciting because I am collaborating with three other ladies and talking about a fun Spring trend- the white shirt. I've teamed up with Janeane from Designing From My Closet, Amy from Full Figured and Fashionable and Nina from Curvy Mod.

The white shirt is basic but combined with other articles of clothing and accessories, it's anything but basic! I love the way that all of us took this one wardrobe staple and made it into a totally different look!

Janeane wore hers with some cropped pants and lace up sandals and a clutch. Her look is comfortable and casual yet easily a dressed up look for day or night.

Amy wore hers with a cardigan and skirt. This is another look that could be worn for work or play. I love the coral and the pop of green in the necklace!

Nina's look is super cute with the bow tie and the patterned pants. Her look is another great example of how a white shirt doesn't necessarily mean business- it's for fun too!

I decided to wear my white shirt with a skirt and heels for a daytime look. This Loft skirt is such a great color and I cannot wait to wear it more ways!  I dressed it up with green accents and a floral clutch for some visual interest but lengthened my legs by wearing nude heels. I love this Spring outfit!

Here are some more pics of today's look:

Shirt- New York and Company (old)
Skirt- Loft (recent)
Heels- Loft (last year)
Clutch- Francesca's (last year)
Necklace- Stella and Dot (old)
Bracelet- Target (old)

I hope you all gained some good ideas of how to wear your white shirts! This was a lot of fun collaborating with these ladies and make sure you go check out their blogs too!

What I Wore: April 2015 Part One

I decided it was becoming time consuming to post my pictures and write about outfits every week. Today is April 21 and I am just now recapping the first half of the month so I know I am behind!  I thought this way I could recap some or all of the outfits if I really wanted to but do it in my own time making it easier for me.

Here are some of the highlights for the first half of April:

I spent almost a week in Grand Rapids so I had some fun background pics during the first half of the month!

Here's the breakdown:

I love this denim jacket and you'll see a lot of it this Spring! I paired it this day with my LuLaRoe Cassie pencil skirt and some fun striped wedges for added interest to this outfit.

This day, my son and I went to the Grand Rapids Art Museum (GRAM). I wanted something casual yet classy and I felt great wearing this outfit around town.

I worked in the office for this day so I had some fun with color blocking and wearing bright colors. I felt fantastic in this outfit!

Another day in Grand Rapids- we spent this day walking around and this pic was taken by The Blue Bridge- one of my favorite places in the city!

Easter Sunday! I love this custom made eShakti dress! I felt like it was so lady-like with the floral and also so classic! I loved my accessories that day too- especially the shoes! You can check out my Sunday Style post for all of the details on this outfit!

Last outfit in Grand Rapids and it had started to get cooler so I was glad I got to wear this sweater one more time before packing it away! Also, these Target shoes are so comfy!

Another denim jacket outfit but I'm loving it paired with the blues, browns and olive green!

I wore this custom blue denim dress for Autism Awareness Day. I love the dress but also supporting my friends who have kids with autism!

Quite possibly my favorite outfit of the month so far was this Sunday Style post with the floral midi skirt and striped top! Check out the post for all of the details!

I hope your start of April was great and just as colorful and bright as mine!

Style Spotlight: Seeing the World Differently

Today's post is all about one of my new favorite companies called Firmoo Global Optical. I'm excited to review my experience with all of you! Spoiler alert: I'll be sharing a coupon code at the end of this post for you to try your own!

I was excited when I was asked to try these glasses out from Firmoo! Even though I was initially apprehensive about the whole ordering glasses online, I ended up being so pleased with the results!

I first chose red frames because I liked the color and thought they would be a good addition to my brown ones. I then took my prescription from my eye doctor and entered that. I did have to measure a little bit but it was super easy when I looked in the mirror to do it.

The end results: seeing the world differently! Check out this shot by the Blue Bridge in Grand Rapids, Michigan!

I am loving these frames!

Thanks to Firmoo, I am also giving away five $15 vouchers towards your purchase at Firmoo! Use the code "CURVYGIRlONTHERUNBLOGS4"and order your pair today!

Sunday Style: Spring Fling

Who else is ready for Spring besides me? The snow has melted (finally!) and the birds are chirping in the mornings. Time change has come and gone and let's be honest, it was a pain and it threw me off that whole week, but it means that Spring is here and that means warmer weather for us!

For today's Sunday Style post, I thought it would be fun to have a fling with spring. Brighter colors and florals and some pattern mixing is a sure way of cheering all of us up and getting us ready for the rain showers, flowers blooming and grass turning green.

Here are a few pics from today's Sunday Style look:

Skirt- Mindy Maes Market (online)
