Sunday Style: Terrific in Teal

Image
Spring is coming!  It's hard being in Texas and seeing the seasons change- mainly because it's been about the same since I got here in November. It's cold for a day or two and then the temps warm up. Yesterday it was 80 degrees! Spring will be here soon and one of the great things is new prints from karinadresses . I've got the Carolyn  on in the Teal Fans design. The shape of this dress is terrific for every body type and the colors are fantastic! You can easily dress this one up or down.  I chose a nude heel and a floral clutch for some added fun. By the way, speaking of fun, the outtakes are hilarious as my heel kept getting caught in the boards of this bridge! Who says fashion can't be fun? And check out that amazing full moon in the first couple of pics! Beautiful!  Here are some pics of this terrific teal dress:  Dress: karinadresses (shop upper right in blog) Heels: Payless (last year) Clutch: Francesca's (last year...

Sunday Style: Vintage Style

If I haven't made you a believer in  karinadresses  yet, then I hope after this post you will be one! Every time I wear one of their dresses, I receive so many compliments and I feel like a million bucks!  As many of you know, I've been going through a personal transformation. My fitness routines and diet have changed and my body is catching up. When I first saw this dress, I wasn't sure how it would look on me. I struggle with all of the same insecurities that you all do!  I thought it might be too straight for me since I have wider hips- the struggle is real for us real women with real bodies and real curves!  But when I got it and put it on, all of those insecurities faded and to my amazement, I was so thrilled with everything about this dress. From the cut to the pattern to the color, I am in love with it. The fabric has stretch to it so it helps to cover and even enhance my curves. I'm proud of the body that I have and Iike to show it.  I'm...

Sunday Style: Celebrate!

Image
Another day, another Shabby Apple dress. You know, no big deal. Just me and one of my best gal pals Lynsie waltzing around town in our fancy dresses and carrying balloons.  People stopped to stare, people stopped to wish us Happy Birthday. We didn't have the heart to tell them that we were just doing a photo shoot!  What am I celebrating? Another day that I get to live and enjoy this life is a reason for me to celebrate! Throw in some balloons and a fancy party dress and life gets even more fun and memorable.  Enjoy every little moment that we are given. Take pictures if you need to remember or just close your eyes and put them in your memory bank for later like I sometimes do. Whatever your method, cherish the memories and continue your own celebration of life. I had the best time this week and plan to continue to celebrate.  Now here's some pictures of this fantastic dress from Shabby Apple:  D...

I'm loving this cut and color of this dress- simple yet so elegant at the same time! I let the dress speak for itself and paired it with pearls, a simple clutch and patterned pumps. I love this look so much!  Here are some pictures of today's look: I just love this dress! Shabby Apple is a great place to find romantic dresses and skirts as well as unique looks. Black and White

You know when you're watching a show on television and you see something that someone is wearing and you have to find it? This happened to me a little while ago when I was watching the new TLC show called Love Lust or Run. I was just minding my own business when Stacy showed up wearing this same top!  It's no secret that I loved the show What Not to Wear and the hosts. I visited Clinton Kelly at his new show called The Chew a couple of years ago. Here's a picture to prove it...(any chance I have to share this picture I do!)  I sometimes am able to catch an episode here and there of The View when Stacy London is a co-host. When I saw she had this new show on TLC, I decided I needed to check it out.  It just so happened that one of the first episodes I saw, she was wearing this outfit. I immediately started looking online to see if I could find where she got it. I couldn't find it right away but was able to find some others that were similar. I ...
