Prepping for Fall in Paisley

Image
It was so sunny and hot earlier this week when I took these pictures. It's hard to believe that this week will be September! Before you know it, fall will be here in all its glory. The leaves will begin to change and cooler temps will arrive. We will be trading in our cold beverages for hot ones and baseball for football. I'm not ready for it!  This dress has me thinking about fall- before long, I won't be wearing open toe shoes, I'll be wearing boots with it! Even though I'm not ready for fall to get here, I am loving the fall colors in this karinadresses dress! The paisley is perfect and the colors so rich and saturated.  I'm wearing the Mia  style dress which is perfect for all body types. The tie can be worn in the back like I did or belted around your waist and tied at the side. I'm loving the wide sleeves and the material is so soft and silky! A home run in my book! Or I guess a touchdown since I'm talking about fall... Here are a few ...

Sunday Style: Neon and Floral

Image
I love the combination of neon colors and florals. I've talked many times about how I love bright colors and floral prints so it should come as no surprise that I love neon and floral together.  To make it even better, throw in a comfortable dress from karinadresses . I'm in love with this butterfly garden print and the style is called the  Nora .  I love the vee neck on this dress which elongates the body and the cut of the rest of the dress with the waist going in is just sheer magic. It makes me feel like a million bucks!  Here's some pics of this gorgeous floral dress:  Dress- Karina dresses (online recent) Clutch- Target (last year) Shoes- DSW (recent) I've been enjoying our beautiful weather all weekend. I hope you all have been having a wonderful weekend as well!  Thanks for reading and following along with me!  Sandae

Sunday Style: Live Colorfully

Image
Spring is one of my favorite times of the year. One of the reasons is the colors that you start to see. Oh sure, it's raining outside right now as I write this, but I see that warmer temps and sunny days are heading our way this week.  The grass turns green, the birds are out and chirping, the flowers start to bud. I bought myself a bouquet of flowers this week- treat yourself! In the world of fashion, or maybe just in my world of fashion, more colors start to appear in the form of shoes and bags and accessories. Bright colors and flowers and other patterns make their way on to my clothing. It's spring!  Live colorfully! Rejoice in the new season and time of refreshing and rebirth. He makes all things new again. Take a minute to stop and smell the roses (or any other flower for that matter) and enjoy the awakening of the earth in this season.  For today's look, I chose a plain green dress but paired it with bright coral pumps. I added a colorful clutch and som...

Sunday Style: Twinning in the City

Image
One of my favorite things about Instagram is the connections that I have made and the people that I have met. Every day I get to see peoples' outfits but sometimes I also get to know people and make new friends.  My friend Terri ( iamterrib on Instagram ) is no exception. We met downtown Grand Rapids for lunch and, yes, we sure did plan to wear our matching skirts. We texted before we met about how we were going to style them for the day. People may have given us a few looks here and there while we were out walking around but we didn't notice. We were too busy laughing and catching up and having fun.  We both loved this black and white skirt from Target that's part of the Who What Wear collection because of the versatility and cut and style of the skirt. I love that it goes with every solid color as well as some prints (like Terri's graphic tee!) and can be dressed up or down. This is a great skirt to wear while out and about for the day or throw on a blazer and...

Black and White with a Pop

Image
Black and white is classic. I love the colors together or separately. If you know me though, you know I'm more about color. I love basic colors like this but I like to let's say, snazz it up a little?!  I could have paired a regular solid top with this splash dance skirt  from Ollie Marie Boutique  but I decided to pair this lace one with it instead since it's one of my favorites. And black and white goes with black and white, right? But it needed something else so why not these adorable neon yellow pumps? This gave it the perfect pop of color that I was looking for!  Here's a few pictures of this fun look:  And if you love this skirt as much as I do (or Ollie Marie Boutique), use the code sandaemarch for 20% off your order! Monochromatic Monday

Image
Black and white is so simple. So easy. So elegant, yet effortless. I love having a dress that does all the work for me. This one has a great silhouette with a fitted bust, Aline skirt and even pockets! I added black and white patterned shoes for even more of an effect.  I found this wall a while ago and knew it would be perfect for today's post. I also loved that we took pictures later in the day and the sun was starting to cast a shadow on the wall behind me.  When I look at this picture, I'm reminded of this quote from Walt Whitman: "Keep your face always towards the sunshine- the shadows will fall behind you." I think that's a good reminder for all of us to keep looking ahead and to keep moving forward. Hope you all had a great Monday! Tassel Tuesday

Image
Confession: I've been saving these pictures for a few weeks...When my girl Lynsie and I meet up, we do several photo shoots and try to collaborate on our posts. We've both been super busy lately and haven't had the time to write a lot so we decided to finally get it done! Check hers out at  Similar Styles  and get more information on her look! Tassels have been all the rage for a while now and they're mostly popular in accessories. Earrings, necklaces, bracelets and bags are my favorites. I managed to find all kinds of fun tassels for this outfit!  Bright colors are my favorite but pair them with an amazing and fun backdrop? It's love!   So there you have it! Tassel Tuesday! It's a thing, right? It is now anyways...here's to more fun photo shoots with fun backdrops!  Outfit Deets:  Top- Old Navy (recent) Jeans- Target (earlier this year) Wedges- Payless Shoe Source (earlier this year) Necklace- Purple Pe...
