WhatUp Wednesday #7

Yay! Today is Wednesday! I had a lot of fun this past week. I did stuff I haven’t done before here in DFW and I had friends visiting so it was even better! During the summer I have decided that I should try to do at least one thing per week and I far exceeded this week.

If you read my blog post yesterday, you saw that I went to the Globe Life Park where the Texas Rangers play and took a tour of the stadium. If you didn’t read the post, shame on you! No really though, check it out! PSA- click on the bloglovin’ link and follow my blog and it will come straight to your inbox as well.

Anyways, you should check it out- it was a fun time and it was so cool to see everything behind the scenes. We did another tour that started in downtown Dallas and took us around the city as well as historic events surrounding JFK and his assassination. We did this with City Tours and it was a bus tour (bonus: air conditioning!) and we stopped a few places for photo ops. One stop was the house where Lee Harvey Oswald was a boarder and rented a room. This house is now a museum- creepy anyone? It sure was- everything was the same-same furniture and everything-even in his bedroom!

We also stopped at the Cattle Drive Sculptures in Pioneer Park and that was pretty cool. Big eye anyone? This is a traveling piece and no one knows when it will move…old time cars? Yes, please! You can even take a tour in one of these sweet rides!

Next stop was In N Out Burger for some grub. These ladies needed a little help deciding what to order since there is more on the Secret Menu, but everyone seemed to LOVE the food. It was totally worth the wait!

We then headed to McKinney to see the Third MondayTrade Days which is basically once a month for the weekend. It has tons of vendors and I know that we would have stayed quite a bit longer if it were not so hot out! Even some of the vendors were packing up early since they were not used to the heat.

Overall it was such a fun time! They did more without me on Saturday and Monday but I was happy to spend the time with them when I could.

Here are some pics from our fun:

Next up, I finally jumped on the bandwagon and tried out Lipsense! I know, I know, why did I wait so long? Let me tell you what I thought about the product- Overall, I LOVE it! I got the color Persimmon and it is a coral red color and I topped it off with the glossy gloss. You definitely need to follow the instructions and apply accordingly. I loved the way my lips glisten when I wear this and I am already picking out my next colors! One thing I don’t love, is I feel my lips peel off (gross!) and if I bite my lip where it is peeling, I have to reapply the color-having to reapply is typical of lip colors. This definitely stayed on a long time and I just kept applying the gloss over it and it stayed. I was thrilled that I was asked to try it out! Follow my friend Micci, @miccolene on Instagram, order from her and you will get FREE SHIPPING using the code CURVYGIRL.

Here I am trying this on as soon as I got it from the mailbox:

I had a lot of fun outfits this past week too. Here are my weekly roundup pics:

Lastly, I caught the OJ: Made in America series that was created by ESPN. I was very interested in this and it held my attention throughout the entire series. With OJ getting the possibility of parole tomorrow, I found this even more relevant.

What fun things do you all have planned for the summer? Any recommendations for the DFW area for me?

All About That Base

I had some friends in town this past weekend and they had some things on their list that they wanted to do. One of them was take a tour of the Rangers Stadium in Arlington, TX. It is actually called the Globe Life Park but it is where the Rangers play baseball.

I loved the look and feel of the stadium as it was modeled after the old Tiger Stadium, Yankee Stadium, and Fenway Park. However, it has many features all its own. I especially liked the old-time feel of the stadium with the dark green steel beams and rafters and I liked the way the suites were all named after Hall of Fame baseball players. There were sepia pictures of the former players in the stadium and the flags were all held up with baseball pats.

It was definitely a cool thing to experience. Seeing all the stadium behind the scenes makes me feel like I am special and that I have seen secretive parts of the stadium that most will not. We went into the press box, the suite owned by the City of Arlington, the players batting cages, and the bullpen. So much information and history was shared with us and I would highly recommend visiting the stadium if you are in town. Maybe wait until it cools down a bit though-my clothes were sticking to me (see pics)! The cost was $15-$18 if you booked over the phone or electronically. Click here to find out more information.

WhatUp Wednesday #6

Well, first things first. I am sorry I didn't write last week. With the holiday and everything else going on, it was just hard to write on Wednesday. I really don't think I had a lot to write about either. It was just a normal week with not a lot going on.

Today I have a lot to write about! There's this fun dress from eshakti that I want to share with you all. I posted a pic on Instagram last week promising to write about it soon. I love eshakti because you can customize your clothing items. I have bought several dresses from there and I have been absolutely delighted with every dress that I have gotten. The dresses all have pockets which you all know I love but I also like that I can put in my measurements and have the dress made to fit just me! They also have a lot of beautiful unique patterns and they have tons of conservative styles that I love.

Here's some pics of this fun sundress:

I went to see a couple of movies this past week. I saw Transformers which I do not recommend, but I also saw Baywatch which I would recommend. It was R rated and there definitely was some raunchy humor but it also was a lot of fun and had a lot of action which I liked.

I went to Board and Brush with my friend Bethany and made this awesome wooden sign. I love this place and we are already planning our next trip! They have the board ready for you and the stencil all ready but then we stained and distressed and painted and hammered and did all of the other work. It was such a great experience and so much fun!

I went to my friend Jesse's birthday bar crawl and made it to a couple of bars for about three hours. I did good, ya'll! It was fun hanging out at the Shops at Legacy.

Here are some outfits from the past week or so in case if you didn't catch them on Instagram:

Hope you all have had a great week so far! It's Wednesday- we are almost to the weekend!

Sunday Style: Floral Fantasy

It’s not every day that you wear a dress and feel special-it should be, but that’s not always the case. This dress is truly a fantasy come true. The style of this Karinadresses is magical-it gives me such a good waistline and accentuates the curves of my body. The print is also perfect. A floral is my favorite but this one is special. A large floral print that is splashed on a black background gives the perfect detail to an otherwise perfect little black dress.

As with all of karinadresses dresses, they can be dressed up or down. I chose to wear lace up sandals with this one today but I could also see it worn with booties and a sweater for fall. Comfort is key in this Tea Garden Carolyn dress and it’s light enough for the hot weather that we have going on here as well as across a lot of the US.
Best part? karinadresses are on sale through July 4! Take an extra 25% off using the code MADEINTHEUSA.  Shop through the link on the side of the blog and choose any new dress for 25% off! Crazy sale on the original easy dresses!
Here are some shots of me in this floral fantasy:

Have a great weekend and enjoy your holiday!
