Window Pane

Image
I'm always reminded of the Eminem song where the lyrics talk about window pane (or in his case, window pain) when I wear this skirt. In case if you forgot, here they are...        "...Now you get to watch her leave out the window, guess that's why they call it window pane..." I bought this skirt earlier this year and wore it once before. I decided to document this outfit in a blog post since it's not that often I have multiple pictures to show off! That being said, I added a jacket and some fun booties this time around and I'm thrilled with the results!  Both the skirt and jacket are made of scuba material so they are comfortable as well as fashionable. The tee shirt is cotton and the booties, well, they're comfortable enough but I always suffer for fashion! I made sure to add some of my trusty Sole Serum  that I love so I could walk around in these bad boys all day and no suffering was necessary!  Here's the look from today:  ...

February 2015 Week Four Recap

Image
This week I did a Pinned It, Spinned It style challenge that was all about polka dots. I had a lot of fun shopping in my closet and I even brought out a couple of newer items that hadn't been worn yet. I loved this week's looks so much and even used two of them for my February Favorites!  Monday, Feb 23- No outfit post on this day- my son had his third snow day in a row due to the cold weather we were having. Tuesday, Feb 24- I wore some of my favorite things on this day. I love this polka dot dress that I got a couple of years ago from New York and Company and  winterized it by adding a mustard blazer and a faux fur stole. I added tights and boots to finish off the look. One of my faves this month!  Jacket- Banana Republic (last year) Dress- New York and Company (old) Belt- Loft (old) Faux fur- Target (last year) Boots- DSW (old) Wednesday, Feb 25- I didn't have any polka dot pants to wear but these pants have circles on them so it's close...

Jumpin' July Style: Days 25-31

Image
We are officially into August which means sadly the summer is coming to an end before we know it. I have enjoyed seeing all of the beautiful summer outfits from everyone who participated in July's style challenge! We had our fair share of cooler days and nights this month as well so it was interesting seeing how everyone transformed some of their warmer temps outfits into cooler temps outfits. Let's get down to it and recap this last week of July, shall we?  Day 25- Peachy Keen- I chose a peach tee to wear with these patterned capris that I got last year. I love them with a good pair of heels or wedges. I think they make my legs look longer!  For this day, I chose to feature my friend, Brett, @silvrgurl. She is always on point with her outfits and poses for every day of challenges! I love the colors and the print mixing!  Day 26- Dancing in Denim- I wore some boyfriend jeans on this day with my MI Love tee. I wanted a casual look for a day filled w...

Joyful June Style: Days 16-22

Image
This past week's themes were so much fun! I had a blast dressing up each day and seeing all of your outfits as well!  Day 16- Sassy in Stripes- I took the opportunity this day to do some pattern mixing and wear my new floral skirt with an older striped tee. I sent a pair of shoes back and got a credit so I used some of the money to buy the skirt on sale. I saw a few other gorgeous ladies with the skirt and the dress in this pattern and loved it so I decided to give it a try when I saw it pop back in my size!  I saw lots of pattern mixing on this day! I chose to feature my IRL (in real life) friend @craftymama77 for this day. I love how she has gotten so bold and is having fun with fashion and this style challenge!  Day 17- Inspired by Carrie Bradshaw- This was a tie for my favorite day! I didn't religiously watch and Sex and the City when it was on, but I do like the show and the movies. Besides, she has impeccable style and who else can get a...

Forty Before Forty: Snow Day!

Image
Disclosure: This post is from the past-I am guessing it was around December while on Christmas break. While it is entirely possible, please do not be alarmed and think that we have this much snow at the end of April...Enjoy! Is it really a snow day if you're already off work and school? My son and I thought it was! We recently got about 6-7 inches of snow and we decided to take advantage of it. I found a pair of snow pants at Lands End and decided to take them for a spin!  You might remember from a while back that I am turning forty this year and I have a list of things to accomplish before then. For winter activities, I have ice skating, building a snowman, and making a snow angel. We decided to build a snowman and do the snow angels. Check those off my list!  While I live in Michigan and it might seem strange that I haven't built a snowman or made snow angels in years (if ever!), I have to say that for years I traveled and wasn't home in the winter and other th...

Style Me April: Days 1-10

Image
Here we are in the middle of April already! Another month is passing by so quickly! I was happy to get into April since I knew it would start to warm up and I could start wearing something other than jeans and boots and sweaters. (While I write this, I must tell you that last night we got 3 inches of snow here in MI!). Here are the first ten days of the challenge in a recap. Day 1- Skirting Around Town This was a really fun outfit for me.   I put some old and new(ish) things together and created this look.   I love the graphic tee and this skirt has always been one of my favorites. I also chose these lace up shoes to go with this look and love it! Day 2- Neutral and a Pop of Color I will tell you that I bought these jeans some time ago and didn’t feel super great about wearing them.   I was participating in a clean eating challenge for a couple of weeks and put these on and they felt great! I even belted them! This pretty coral jacket has been in m...
