WhatUp Wednesday #5

Image
Hey, friends! What's up? Wow has it been a week! The heat has been on full blast in Texas (duh!) and I am learning to do some new things this summer. Today was fun as I rode the DART for the first time to get to downtown Dallas for an all day meeting. I wore this fancy Lularoe Amelia and was comfortable and felt great. I love Lularoe! Their mission to make women look good and feel good is definitely a winner for me! Here's me early this morning getting ready to ride the train: What else has been happening? Well, let's see. I went to a friend's house for a birthday party on Sunday but then checked out this Buddhist temple nearby. It was beautiful to see the statues and the architecture. We then went to Eatzi's for dinner which is this super cool place. It's a market but you can also stay there and eat and warm up your food if necessary. I got the turkey meatloaf, twice baked potato and some almondine green beans. This was more than enough food for several

Well it's that time again. The week in review. This week was much quieter than last week and I honestly have just been enjoying time alone. First up I want to share this beautiful floral  "That's A Wrap" dress from my friends over at Ollie Mae Boutique . This dress is so great from the floral to the slits in the sleeves! The maxi style is not overpowering for a small frame since it has a high low hemline. You definitely need to size up on this one! Use the code "CURVYGIRLJUNE" for a discount on your order! I have decided that while my son is gone over the summer that I will try to do one new thing each week. This last weekend I went to a concert at FairPark in Dallas and saw the Doobie Bros and Chicago. This was so fun! I went with a friend from work and her sister and cousin. It was cute because we all showed up wearing hats! But man was it hot! I spent a ton of time out at the pool over the weekend relaxing and last night I made a wonderfu

Well, since last week’s post, I have come and gone to Michigan. I enjoyed the cooler temps, seeing friends and family, eating food that I have missed, etc. I have only been gone for a little over six months so not really long enough to forget everything and a short enough time to go right back to the way it was before I left. Does that even make sense? It does to me… First things first, here's my outfit for today. Yes, I am wearing these pants again but I love them! And this cold shoulder flutter top from eloquii has me all googley-eyed. But w ant to know why I am laughing? It is always funny to me to see guys on the sidelines when I am taking my outfit pictures. They shake their heads and look at their phones...today happened to be a coworker of mine-so funny! By the way, I am under the treehouse at work getting this picture taken since my photographer is currently out of commission for the summer. Anyways, on the way up to Michigan, my son and I stopped and saw the c

Pretty In Pink

I never really used to like pink. Can you believe it? I wasn’t “girly” by any stretch of the imagination until I was older. When I was growing up I had friends who were guys, I liked basketball and I even considered going into the Army at one point. Now that I am older, I have fully embraced my feminine side and I love all things pink, glitter, unicorns, the full shebang. I also recently watched the movie Pretty in Pink a couple of times and I just love it! I love her creativity, her passion, her designs, you name it. Such a fun concept of creating your own prom dress and being 100% authentically you! So, when I saw this dress from Avenue , I also fell in love! Those sleeves though! So great and fun! This dress is very comfortable as it is a poly blend and is even machine washable! It comes with this fun necklace that you can detach if you want to accessorize it differently. I left the necklace on so you can see the full look of the dress. (Note:  this particular dress is

Sunday Style: Coral Crush

Summer is here and the warmth is upon us. I love all things warm including colors. One of my favorite colors that I am crushing on right now is coral. I think coral is an especially pretty color for the warmer months because it is all about nature and the beautiful colors and scenery around us. This beautiful karinadresses dress is one of my current faves. The colors are so fantastic for the warmer months! No need to worry about a jacket or being too dressed up or down as this dress is so versatile! I love the neckline of the Katharine dress because I can easily wear a fun necklace with it.  I chose a turquoise color since I thought it added a nice color to the Rosy Posy dress pattern that is white, coral and blue. And let's talk about these sandals! They are for sure my current favorite sandals and I am looking for all of the outfits to wear them with! The color is fantastic and the wedge heel! Oh, I love a good wedge! But also the ties are such a fun addition to the Jay
