Autumn Watercolors

Image
Okay, okay, fine. I like autumn. I am still resisting it and the cold weather that comes behind it, but I am liking the briskness in the air and the smell of fall. Most of all, I like the colors. There is still a lot of green but I am noticing the leaves changing colors to yellow, orange and red.  Similar to the changing of the leaves is this karinadresses in the Autumn Watercolor design. I am wearing the Penelope  in this design and it is just magnificent! I cannot say enough how much I love these dresses but the Penelope is not only flattering but it's got pockets too! I love the way the waist is defined and the skirt flows out a little. It balances out my smaller top part of my body with the larger bottom part of my body.  The colors are beautiful just like the changing colors all around us. If we stop long enough just for a minute, we can enjoy all of the beauty that is in autumn.  I've styled this dress two ways for you:  Dressy Casual ...

Sunday Style: Fuchsia

Image
It's been a little while since I have posted a Sunday Style post on the blog! I've been busy with life and just haven't been able to get to it. I hope this changes and I'm able to post much more! I've been talking colors on the blog in a few of my Sunday Style posts and I thought today I'd do another one and talk about one of my favorite colors, fuchsia.  Fuchsia is a variation of pink. When you mix other colors with pink, light or warm, they create new versions of the color. Fuchsia is a deep pink mixed with blue. I'm drawn to brighter colors but I love the meaning behind this one. Fuchsia is all about inspiring confidence and assurance and maturity, a more responsible and controlled nurturing and love. You are confident and not afraid to take action. Remember that the journey is often more important than the outcome.  I cannot love this any more. In my life, sometimes confidence is lacking. I'm going to start wearing brighter colors more oft...

Is that you, Spring?

Image
It's officially the beginning of Spring. Time change has come and gone. We lost an hour of sleep and gained an hour of sunshine. It's making it easier for me to get out and take walks and listen to music. It's more time to do things outside like clean out your car and go to the openings of ice cream stores.  It happens every year though that Winter rears its ugly head and brings snow storms and cold temperatures. We enjoyed temps in the 60's and now it's dipping back down. Spring, is that you?  It will be here in full force before we know it. Tulips, my favorite flowers, will be everywhere and the birds are already chirping. Another thing about my favorite season is the clothes! We're able to dress in fewer layers and wear cute shoes! Enough of the snow boots already!  This maxi dress from karinadresses  had me all happy and ready for spring! I loved the temps were warm enough to share it alone but I think I'll be having to stick with a jacket ov...

March 2015 Week One Recap

Image
Yes, I realize it's the middle of March now. I realize that this thing called life gets in the way sometimes of doing other things like blogging or even cleaning and laundry, etc. You get the picture.  Well, the first week of March I spent a few days in Charlotte, NC for work. Meetings, meetings and more meetings. I'll tell you though- I love going and being with my co-workers and friends! It's just not the same on conference calls or WebEx as it is being live in the room. I enjoyed a nice room, plenty of food and lots of laughter and friendship.  Here's a recap of the few looks that I posted that week:  Monday, March 2- I played along with a Pinterest- inspired outfit for this day. It makes me wonder what we ever did without Pinterest and Instagram for inspiration!  Dress- Target (earlier this year) Cardigan- New York and Company (old) Shirt- Old Navy (old) Necklace- JCrew Factory (old) Bracelet- The Limited (earlier this year) Ba...
