Curvy Girl on the Run

This past week was a lot of fun seeing everyone's looks. I continue to be amazed at having one theme and seeing so many different interpretations! I think that is one of the reasons why I love doing these challenges so much!  Day 7- Big Statement, Little Price- I actually combined days 7 and 8 on day 8 because I wasn't feeling well a lot of this last week. I wore a beautiful statement necklace that I got from Geoopdealz for a little price. This is actually the second one of this necklace that I have bought because I wore out the first one!  I chose @maria_neonamber to feature for this day because she is definitely making a statement in her necklace and earrings! I think they look fabulous!  Day 8- Living Colorfully- I wear color every day because I love it! I can't stand to wear neutrals or just all black, etc. without putting some sort of color with it. Once we are done grieving over the loss of summer and take a look around, we can see how beautiful the colors are around us. I know it's hard for some of us (particularly me) to get over the fact that winter is coming but I am always amazed at the changing of the seasons and the beautiful landscape that God has provided for us.  Fall in Michigan is particularly gorgeous since we get a lot of the cooler temps and rain and everything else that makes our trees change colors. The wind comes in now and then and blows the beautiful leaves off the trees and creates piles for us to jump and play in. On Friday we celebrated at the wedding of my brother in law and new sister in law. They chose a venue that was a historic location and had the ceremony outside in a garden and a beautiful indoor reception.  My husband and I love going to weddings- I think I like going a lot too to see what everyone (including the bride) will be wearing. I love the decorations, colors and themes. I often imagine what I would do if our wedding were this year instead of thirteen years ago.  While I didn't have any part in the wedding, I still wanted to dress up and look good. I decided on this beautiful dress from Loft that was purchased during a 50% off sale. I wore nude bow pumps and pearls with this dress and carried a leopard clutch for fun. I love this look! I haven't written a really personal post for a while. I actually love writing and I love story telling but when it comes to sharing my own stories, I sometimes shy away. It's not because I don't want to share but it's more about being embarrassed or sometimes afraid of what others think. It's hard to believe that as we get older, we still have the same insecurities at times as a teenager.  Words can hurt. I am almost laughing out loud as I write this since I am reminded of an insurance commercial that has been coming on recently. They say "did you know that words can hurt?" Then a cowboy rides into the sunset and hits his head on the words "the end". Have you seen that one? It's comical but also something to think about. Words can hurt us- maybe not physically like this, but mentally and emotionally.  Words can also help. I have a practice that I like to do and that is look at the positive in everything. October is here and so is the newest style challenge from yours truly! I wanted to incorporate some fun days in with some fall themes and some inspired days as well so this challenge has something for everyone!  Day 1- Ebony and Ivory- It wouldn't be my outfit in black and white without some patterns and color thrown in as well! I had an event for Dress for Success at night and didn't get a chance to get a "proper" picture taken.
