WhatUp Wednesday #81

Hi friends! How has everyone been lately? If you’ve been following along with me, you know that I took a break over the past week or so to really focus on helping Black creators to be seen and heard more on Instagram- as that is my main platform with followers. I muted myself other than my stories (meaning no posting of regular content on my feed) and on my stories posted resources, content and more all relating to Black Lives Matter.

I feel like this needs to be said. Just because someone is back to posting their outfit pics doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re no longer helping the cause. Don’t let yourself get caught up in what others are doing. I fell into this trap this past week and let me tell you, it’s no fun. If you feel a certain way, let it be known. You don’t have to do what everyone else is doing in order for you to feel like you are enough. I’ve had a lot of meaningful conversations this past week about this and I feel that I am ready to post my content and move forward with helping the cause at the same time. Does my timeline look the same as yours? It might not! Does everything I do need to be done the same way as yours? It does not! Don’t fall into the comparison trap - remember, comparison is the thief of joy.

Now we didn’t hear as much about coronavirus and the pandemic while protests were happening all around the globe. Things are starting to reopen in most states now slowly but surely. In Michigan the restaurants reopened on Monday- not all but a lot- and this next week salons and nail places will reopen. You know I’m most excited about that as I’ve had bad nails and hair for what feels like months now!

The last weekend in May, my friend Terri and I ventured out to Noco Provisions in Grand Rapids and enjoyed some of the best food! We were able to sit outside in the back of her Jeep and eat our food and catch up. We had a blast and the food was amazing! I’m looking forward to going back soon when I can eat inside the restaurant and order a cocktail too!

Here are a few pics from that night including my outfit that I wore (outfit is all Lularoe- Jax pants are from last year and the Liv tee is a newer one that you might be able to find still!)

So we tried a lot of things from Noco Provisions that night! My favorite was the Crispy Brussel Sprouts, the Provision Burger and the Chocolate Brownie. Terri loved her Hoppin Jane that she ordered as well! We also tried the Chicken Sandwich and the Beet Burger, the Carrot Cupcake and the Strawberry Shortcake. I would love to go back and try the Nachos and so many more things next time!

Then last week I met up with Terri again and this time we met in her hometown of Rockford. What a cute little city! We met up to grab coffee in the morning and we saw a little parade with fire trucks that they did to reopen the city since the pandemic. We sat outside and chatted and then after the parade went and walked and saw the dam and then had some lunch from Ramona’s Table. I’ve missed hanging out with my friends and eating out at restaurants. I can’t wait until everything is opening back up again!

I wore this fun little crop top and maxi skirt outfit from SheIn but I actually pulled the skirt up so it looks like a dress! I love that SheIn has such good deals and so many items in different sizes!

Here’s some pics from this fun day’s adventure!

You can shop my outfit here from SheIn and use my code PSS65 for a discount!

Well I think that’s about enough for today’s post. It’s been raining and storming here all day and I’m ready to head to bed.

Please take care of yourselves and stay safe! Thanks for reading and following along with me.
