Sunday Style: Fall Colors and a Designer Collaboration

Once we are done grieving over the loss of summer and take a look around, we can see how beautiful the colors are around us. I know it's hard for some of us (particularly me) to get over the fact that winter is coming but I am always amazed at the changing of the seasons and the beautiful landscape that God has provided for us.

Fall in Michigan is particularly gorgeous since we get a lot of the cooler temps and rain and everything else that makes our trees change colors. The wind comes in now and then and blows the beautiful leaves off the trees and creates piles for us to jump and play in. Cider mills and pumpkin patches and corn mazes are full of people and they don't seem to mind that cold temps and snow will soon be here.

Today's Outstanding October Style challenge is Favorite Designer Collaboration. I love that mass retailers approach top notch designers and have them create lines just for people like me who want a designer piece but don't want to pay a designer price. I have a lot of these that I like, but I wanted to wear this dress today since I purchased it recently at Target in September.

Target has some of the best collaborations and this one with Altuzarra was no different. I have already featured two of the pieces I purchased in an earlier Sunday Style post. Remember the floral sweatshirt and white bow top that I wore with hounstooth pants? I loved those pieces as well.

I decided to wear this gorgeous dress since the fall colors are in full bloom! The dress design itself is gorgeous with a boho feel. I love the gold detailing and the tassels! I think this dress can easily be dressed up or down too which is always something I am looking for.

Today I chose to pair my leopard pumps with the dress and dress it up a little but. I am also carrying a bag from my favorite handbag collaboration from Phillip Lim for Target. By far his bags have surpassed any other as my favorite!

I'm thinking next time I will put my cognac riding boots and a denim jacket with this. I think it will give the dress an entirely different feel and look. I'm also thinking I would like to wear it belted with maybe some different open toe booties or something. It's such a versatile dress!

Here are some pics from today's ensemble:

What are some of your favorite designer collaborations? I'm such a big fan of them that it was hard to just pick one for today! Hope you're enjoying your weekend!

  1. Love your background pictures
Fall is my favorite time of year
I will have to say that I have been a bit disappointed with the collaborations lately.
I used to just love them.
