Sunday Style: Mother Knows Best

Today's Marvelous May Style challenge is Mother Knows Best. I only titled it this day because I'm sure that our mothers have all given us some advice somewhere along the line. Maybe it was related to fashion or maybe not. I don't think mine gave me much advice relating to fashion. In life though, she always said be yourself. 

For today's outfit, I am definitely being myself! Wearing bright colors and favorite sandals, today's outfit is about function and fashion. I chose this Land's End dress today because the weather is pleasant and I knew we would be out and about today. It's definitely comfortable to be running around in! 

I love the colors in this dress- orange and turquoise are two of my favorite colors! I copied the model in the catalog and mixed two beaded necklaces together that I had. I'm wearing these sandals from Bass that I have had for a while (they go with everything) and carrying my thrifted handbag.

Green is my favorite color. I think it brings out the color in my eyes and it looks great with my skin tone.There's lots of sayings with green in them too. Give the green light. Green thumb. Travel Tuesday: Sugar’s Inn Galveston

It’s a special edition of Travel Tuesday on a Thursday!   Ya’ll  need to get on board with going to Galveston! If you’re in the DFW area and you want to get to the beach, you can head south a few hours and get to Galveston easily! This was my second time visiting but I have a feeling I’ll be going back a little more often! I don’t have a ton of recommendations for you yet based on one weekend but the more I go, the more I’ll have!  First things first, where to stay?! There’s a new cute little boutique hotel in town named  Sugar‘s Inn  and I’m obsessed with the cuteness! It’s upstairs of one of Galveston’s finest restaurants  Sugar and Rye . Spoiler alert: I’ll be doing a giveaway with them over on Instagram too! Nothing better than a couple of nights away! My son and I went and we had separate rooms and each one was beautifully furnished from ceiling to floor! Sunday Style: JJ’s House

It’s been said in various ways that clothes don’t make the person, the person makes the clothes. I believe this to be exceptionally true in this beautiful dress that I am wearing in today’s post! This dress literally made me wish that I was heading out to the opera or a benefit dinner. I love that I get to wear and model a lot of clothes and some just feel more special than others. This dress was custom made for me so I got all the feels while I was zipping it up and looking in the mirror. It fits like a glove and I could not be more in love with it!  Let’s talk about  JJ’s House  for a minute. They have all sorts of dresses for special occasions, including bridal wear! I picked out a dress and did my measurements and sent them in with my order.
