Sunday Style: One Striped Dress, Three Ways

It's been a while since I did a post on wearing something multiple ways. It fits well with the theme of the no shopping or limited shopping that I have been doing lately.

I ventured out on July 4th to go shopping and went into Nordstrom Rack. I don't usually find a lot of things there but when I do, they are always so good! Think Kate Spade clutch, Kate Spade pink bag, this dress, etc. So anyways, I have been working on not buying everything I set my sights on but I saw this dress and knew that it would be a staple in my closet. I also knew that it would make a wonderful example of how to buy something and wear it more than one way to make the most of your money.

This dress was on clearance for $29 with an additional 25% off so it was a no-brainer when I tried it on. It's a flattering cut and fit so I went ahead and bought it. I am also thrilled with the service I received in the store as there was a makeup stain on the dress and they got it out right there while I waited! Plus, I have a Nordstrom debit card so of course I earned points with this purchase!

Okay enough about the dress. Let's get down to business and take a look at all three looks!

The first look is casual- I'm thinking a day walking around the city, museum hopping or even out to the market. I decided to put a bright pink necklace from Premier Designs with the dress for the casual look and also add some Lilly and Ivory bangles and fun sandals from Sears. Of course, Kate is coming out to play with this look too! This is a very comfortable way to wear this dress!

The second is another look that I think would work well for a daytime dressy look or even to work. I paired leopard heels from Target this time with the dress, a gold bow belt, a bright handbag from Sears and a bright necklace. I love a good pattern mix!

The last look is a dressier look for evening or maybe even a wedding. I paired a bigger belt from New York and Company with the dress and some Banana Republic metallic heels and statement earrings from Sassy Steals. I put my Social Mongrams monogram clutch with this look since I wouldn't need a larger bag.

I hope I have given you some ideas of how to use some things that you already have in your closet! I'm loving all three of these looks! Which one is your favorite?

Hope you're having a great Sunday!

  1. Thank you, Sandae. You have the most wonderful sense of style!
I admire your work...I'm a former size 2 gamine girl, and now that I'm 30 pounds heavier, it is rough to come to grips with my shape. And yet, every day you inspire me and I feel positively about putting my best self forward.
